RESOLUTION OF INTENTION of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Newport Beach, declaring its intention to order 2Cth
Street in the City of Newport Beach, between the south curb line
If Central Avenue and the north Curb line of Ocean Avenue in
said city, to be graded and capped so that the same shall con-
form to the official grade of said 20th Street; directing the
posting and publication of this Resolution and also the posting
and publication of notices of street work as required by law.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do
resolve and declare as follows : -
SECTION 1:fw RESOLVED: That it is the intention of the
Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach, to order the
following street work to be done, to wit:- That 20th Street in
said city of Newport Beach, from the north curb line of Ocean
Avenue to the south curb line of Central Avenue, in said City,
except such portions thereof as is required by law to be kept in
order or repair by any person or company having railroad tracks
thereon, be graded and capped as follows:-
20th Street, between the property line on either side
thereof, from the north curb line of Ocean Avenue, to the south
curb line of Central Avenue shall be filled in with sand or
earth, and brought to a sub - grade, six inches below the official
grade of said Street, when the same shall be thoroughly packed
and tamped, and shall be in conformity with cross - sectional Plan
No. 2, provide by the City Engineer of the City of Newport Beach,
and on file with the City Clerk. On top of the sub -grade pre-
pared as above, shall be placed a cap, six inches thick, of
earth, clay or gravel which shall be thoroughly packed, tamped
or rolled so that when completed the surface shall be smooth
and solid, and shall be in conformity with the official grade of
said Street and said Sectional Plan No. 2.
SECTION 2:- RESOLVED: That the Clerk be and he is hereby
directed to post this Resolution of Intention conspicuously, for
two days, on or near the door of the Council Chamber of the Board

of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach and to publish the same
by two insertions in the Newport News, a weekly newspaper, pub-
lished and circulated in the City of Newport Beach, which Newport
News is hereby designated by the Board of Trustees for that pur-
pose.
SECTION 3: RESOLVED: That the Street Superintendent
shall thereupon cause to be conspicuously posted along the line
of said contemplated work, not more than one hundred feet in dis-
tance apart but not less than three in all, notices of the pasage
of this Resolution. Said notices shall be headed I'Notice of
Street Work" in letters of not less than one inch in length
and shall in legible characters state the fact of the passage
of this Resolution, its date, and briefly the work proposed and
refer to this Resolution for further particuhrs and whereas there
is no daily newspaper published and circulated in the City of
Newport Beach he shall cause a notice similar in substance to be
published by one insertion in the Newport News, a weekly news-
paper, published and circulated in the City of Newport Beach,
which Newport News is hereby designated for that purpose.
The above and foregoing Resolution of Intention No. 18
was passed and adopted the 24th day of August, 1908, at a regular
meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES, C. A. Barton, F. W. Beckwith, J. McMillan,
NOES: None
ABSENT: J. Ferguson, A. N. Smith
'he foregoing Resolution of Intention No. 18 is hereby
approved this 24th day of Ag4at, A. D. 1908

at a regular meeting of said City Council held at the
regular meeting place thereof, on the 24 day of
