There are 2 resolutions numbered 20.
A resolution of the Board of Trustees of
the City of Newport Beach, declaring its
intention to order a certain alley in
said City, abandoned, vacated and closed.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do
hereby resolve and declare as follows : -
RESOLVED : - That the public interest and convenience re-
quire and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Newport Beach to order a certain alley in said City aban-
doned, vacated and closed.
RESOLVED:- That the work or improvement which it is the
intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach
to order done, is as follows; That that certain alley in the
City of Newport Beach, which is described as follows:-
Commencing at the northwest corner of lot 16,
block 7 East Newport, as per map thereof, recorded
in Book 3, page 317 of Miscellaneous Maps, records
of Orange County, California, running thence
south 202 feet, more or less, to the southwest
corner of lot 17 in block 7! thence westerly, on
the ncr th line of Surf Avenue, 10 feet to the west
line of an alley shown on said map; thence north
202 feet to the south line of Central Avenue;
thence easterly 10 feet to the point of beginning.
be abandoned, vacated and closed.
RESOLVED:- That no land is deemed necessary to be taken

RESOLVED : - That the exterior boundaries of the district
of lands to be effected and benefited bysaid work or improvement
and to be assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses thereof
are hereby specified and described as follows : -
Commencing at the northwest corner of lot 16,
block 7 East Newport, as per map thereof, rea
corded in Book 3, page 37 of Miscellaneous Maps,
records of Orange County, California, running
thence south 202 feet, more or less, to the south-
west corner of lot 17 in block 7; thence westerly,
on the north line of Surf Avenue, 10 feet, to the
West line of an alley shown on said map; thence
north 202 feet to the south line of Central
Avenue; thence easterly 10 feet to the point of
beginning

RESOLVED:- That the Street Superintendent shall cause
to be conspicuously posted, along the line of said contemplated
work or improvement, not more than three hundred feet in distance
apart, but not less thanlhree in all, notices of the passage of
this Resolution. Said notices shall be headed "NOTICE OF PUBLIC
WORK" in letters not less than one inch in length; and shall in
legible characters state the fact of the passage of this Resolu-
tion, its date and briefly the work or improvement proposed, and
refer to this Resolution for further particulars.
RESOLVED:- That whereas there is no daily or semi - weekly
newspaper published in the City of Newport Beach, that the Street
Superintendent is directed to cause notices, similar in substance
to be published in the Newport News, a weekly newspaper published
in the City of Newport Beach, by four successive insertions
in.
The above and foregoing Resolution of Intention was passed
and adopted at a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Newport Beach, held on the 5th day of October, 1908, by
the following vote, to -wit : -
AYES: C. A. Barton, F. W. Beckwith, J. Ferguson, J. McMillan,
A. N. Smith
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
The above and foregoing Resolution is hereby approved this
5th day of October, 1908.

the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, California,
at a regular meeting of said City Council held at the
regular meeting place thereof, on the 5th day of
October 9 1908 , by the following vote,
