HomeMy WebLinkAbout68 - Changing & Re-Establishing Grades on Certain Streets1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 COPY RESOLUTION NO. 68 * COPY A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CHANGING AND RE- ESTABLISHING THE GRADES OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF ALVARADO STREET, ALVARADO PLACE, CENTRAL AVENUE, BAY AVENUE, CORONADO STREET, FERNANDO STREET, BAY VIEW AVENUE, CYPRESS STREET, ADAMS STREET, PALM STREET, WASHINGTON STREET AND MAIN STREET IN SAID CITY Section One: WHEREAS, said Board did on the 11th day of December, 1916, duly adopt a Resolution No. 637 declaring their intention to change and re- establish the official grade of certain portions of Alvarado Street, Alvarado Place, Central Avenue, Bay Avenue, Coronado Street, Fernando Street, Bay View Avenue, Cypress Street, Adams Street, Palm Strec_t, Washington Street and Main Street, hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, said Resolution of Intention was published and posted as provided by law, and notice of the passage thereof was duly published and posted by the Street Superintendent of said Cit as required by law, and no protests against said change of grade were filed within the time therefor; NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do resolve as follows: The official grade of Alvarado Street from the northerly line of Bay Avenue to the southerly line of Buena Vista Boulevard and the northerly line of Block C, Newport Bay Tract, is hereby changed and re- established to conform to the following elevations, to wit: Along the westerly curb line of said Alvarado Street the grade shall be as follows: At a point opposite the northwesterly corner of Bay Avenue 1G7.33 At a point opposite the southwesterly corner of Buena Vista Boule- vard, 1C7.50 Along the easterly curb line of said Alvarado Street the grade shall be as follows: _At a point opposite the northeasterly corner of Bay Avenue, 1C7.33 At a point of the intersection with the northerly line of Block C, Newport Bay Tract, 107.40 -1- 1 ( Section 2. The curb lines herein referred to of Alvarado 2 I Street from the northerly line of Bay Avenue to the southerly line 3 it of Buena Vista Boulevard and the northerly line of Block C, New - 4 port Bay Tract are hereby fixed and established at a distance of 5 four (4) feet easterly and westerly of the westerly and easterly g lines of said Alvarado Street. 7 Section 3. The curb lines herein referred to of Main 11 Street from Surf Avenue to the northerly line of the Balboa Tract are hereby fixed and established as follows: -15- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 The westerly and easterly curb lines frost Surf Avenue to Central Avenue, at a distance of 13 feet easterly and westerly of and parallel with the center line of Main Street; The westerly curb line from a point in the center line Central Avenue, which point is 12 feet westerly of the center line of Main Street, thence in a straight line to a point in the north- erly line of the Balboa Tract, which point is 13 feet westerly of the center line of Main Street; The easterly curb line from a point in the center line of Central Avenue, which point is 13.80 feet easterly of the center line otf the „e�t = of Main Street, thence in a straight line to a point in the southerly line of Bay Avenue, which point is 13 feet easterly of the center line of Main Street. Section 25. The elevations herein given are for the top of the curbs of the respective streets, are in feet, and are above the City Datum Plane, as heretofore adopted and established. At all points between consecutive designated points on the same side of the respective streets, the grade shall conform to a true and uniform gradient along the curb lines between said designated points. All distances between designated points for which the grade is herein established are to be measured along the curb line unless specifically herein otherwise provided. Section 26. The said changes of grade shall be made and the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California knewn as the "Change of Grade Act of 1909." Section 27. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Newport News, a weekly newspaper, printed, pub- lished and circulated within the City of Newport Beach, which is hereby designated for that purpose.
