A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH, DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO IMPROVE CERTAIN PORTIONS OF
THE ALLEY SITUATED BETWEEN ALVARADO PLACE AND CORONADO STREET
AND RUNNING PARALLEL WITH SAID STREETS WITHIN SAID CITY, FOAMING
AN A86ESSME14T DISTRICT OF LANDS TO BE BENEFITED BY AND TO PAY
THE COSTS AND EXPENSES OF SAID PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT.
Be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of
Newport Beach as follows:
SECTION ONE.
That the public interest and convenience require and the
said Board of Trustees does hereby declare its intention to
order the following work to be done, to wit:
That the Alley situated between Alvarado Place and Coronado
Street from the southerly line of the second Alley northerly of
Bay Avenue to the northerly line of the first Alley northerly
of Bay Avenue within said City, be graded for its entire width
to the official grade and a surface be constructed thereupon of
clay and gravel in accordance with Plan No. 256 adopted by
Resolution No. 145 of the Board of Trustees of said City and on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said City and in
further accordance with Specifications No. 23, adopted by
Ordinance No. 118 of the Board of Trustees of said City and on
file in the office of the office of the City Clerk of said
City.
SECTION TWO.
That the said contmepleated work or improvement of said
Alley described in Section One hereof, is in the opinion of the
Board of Trustees of said City, of more than local or m dinary
public benefit, said Board hereby makes the expense of said
work or improvement chargeable upon a district, which district
said Board hereby declares to be the district benefited by
said work or improvement, and to be assessed to pay the costs

and expenses thereof, which said district is bounded and
desoribed:as follows, to wit:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot Forty -seven (47)
of a Map of a sub - division of BlockkCy Newport Bay Tract, as
recorded in Miscellaneous Records Book No.5, Page 25, Records
of Orange County, California; thence easterly in a direct line
to the northeasr corner of Lot Thirty -seven (37) of the afore-
said Newport Bay Tract; thence southerly in a direct line to
the southeast corner of Lot Forty -six (46) of the aforesaid
Newport Bay Tract; thence westerly in a direct line to the
southwest.corner of Lot Fifty -six (56) of the aforesaid New-
port Bay Tract; thence northerly in a direct line to the
northwest corner of Lot Forty -seven (47) of the aforesaid Map
of the Newport Bay Tract, the place of beginning, excepting
therefrom lands forming any part of any public Street or Alley.
SECTION THREE
The City Engineer is hereby directed to make a diagram of
the property affected or benefited by the proposed work or im-
provement as described in this Resolution of Intention, and to
be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, said diagram
to be made as required by law.
SECTION FOUR
It is hereby determined and notice is hereby given that
any and all persons having an objection to the proposed work or
improvement above mentioned, may appear before the said Board
of Trustees on the 24th of October, 1921, at the hour of 7:30
o'clock P.M. of said day at the regular meeting place of said
Board of Trustees in the City Hall of said City of Newport Beach,
and show cause why said improvement should not be carried out
in accordance with this resolution.

SECTION FIVE
All of the proceedings for the aforesaid improvement shall
be taken under and in accordance with the provisions of an Act
of the Legislature of the State of California, known and des-
ignated as the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", and all acts amen-
datory thereof.
SECTION SIX
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Res-
olution and shall cause the same to be published twice in the
Newport News, a weekly newspaper, printed, ":11published and cir-
culated in the said City of Newport Beach, (there being no
daily or semi - weekly newspaper so published, printed and cir=
culated with said City) and which is hereby designated for
that purpose.
Passed by the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport
Beach, and signed by the President of said Board, at their
regular meeting held on the 19th day of September, 1921.
