A Resolution by the Board of Trustees of the City
of Newport Beach declaring its intention to order an
improvement made in said city, describing the improve-
ment, the land deemed necessary to be taken therefor,
specifying the exterior boundaries of a district of
land to be benefited by the improvement, and to be
assessed to pay the damages,costs and expenses there-
of, directing the posting and publication of notice,
and designating a newspaper for that purpose.
The Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach do
resolve and declare as follows:-
Section 1.
Resolved, that the public interest and also the public
convenience require, and it is the intention of the Board of Trus-
tees of the city of Newport Beach to order an improvement made in
said city, and which improvement is described as:-
First The widening in part of that certain
public alley which extends from the westerly line of Alvarado
Street in the city of Newport Beach westerly to the westerly line
of Lot 10 Block 11 of East New -port produced southerly across aaid
alley.
The widening thereof to consist of increasing the width
of said alley at the westerly end thereof by ab -.lishing the right
angle corner at said westerly end of the alley formed by the junc-
tion of the northerly lire of the alley and the westerly line of
said Lot 10, and the replacement of said right angle corner with a
curved corner, which curve shall be as follows:
(a) Commencing at a point on the northerly line of the alley
20 feet easterly from the southwesterly corner of said Lot 10,thence
northwesterly around a circular curve with a radius of 20 feet con-
gave to the northeast a distance of 31.42 feet to a point in the

the southwesterly corner of said lot.

( the use hereinafter in this Resolution of the words
"first alley" means and shall at all times be construed to mean the
alley above described.)
Second The widening in part of that certain
public alley which extends from the easterly line of Lot 6 Block
10 of East Newport, produced southerly across said alley westerly
to the westerly line of Lot 13, Block 10 of East Newport produced
southerly across said alley.
The widening thereof to consist of increasing the width
of-said alley at the easterly and westerly endsthereof by abolish-
ing the right angle corner at the easterly end thereof formed by
the junction of the northerly line of the alley and the easterly
line of said Lot 6, also by abolishing the right angle corner at
the westerly line of the alley formed by the junction of the north-
erly line of the alley and the westerly line of said Lot 13, and
the replacement of each right angle corner with a curved corner
which curve shall be as follows:-
(a) Commencing at a point on the easterly line of Lot 6
20 feet northerly of the southeasterly corner thereof, deice south,,
westerly around a circular curve with a radius of 20 feet concave
to the northwest a distance of 31.42 feet to a point in the south-
erly line of said Lot 6, which point is 20 feet westerly of the
southeasterly corner thereof.
(b) Commencing at a point on the northerly line of the alley
20 feet easterly of the southwesterly corner of Lot 13, thence
northwesterly around a circular curve with a radius of 20 feet

The widening thereof to consist of increasing the width

ing the right angle corner at the easterly end thereof formed by
the junction of the northerly lineof the alley and the easterly
line of said Lot 6, also by abolishing the right angle corner at
the westerly line of the alley formed by the junction of the north-
erly line of the alley and the westerly line of said Lot 13, and

of said alley at the easterly end thereof by abolishing the right
angle corner at the easterly end thereof formed by the junction
of the northerly line of the alley and the easterly line of said
Lot 6, and the replacement of said right angle corner with a curved
corner, which curve shall be as follows:
(a) Commencing at a point in the easterly line of Lot 6
26 feet northerly of the southeasterly corner thereof, thence
southwesterly around a circular curve with a radius of 20 feet
concave to the northwest a distance of 31.42 feet to a point in
the southerly line of said Lot 6, which point is 20 feet westerly
of the southeasterly corner thereof.

public alley which extends from the easterly line of Lot 6 Block
5 of East Newport produced southerly across said alley westerly to
the westerly line of Lot 13 Block 5 of East Newport produced south-
erly across said alley.
The widening thereof to consist of increasing the width
of said alley at the easterly and westerly ends thereof by abolish-
ing the two right angle corners at the easterly end of the alley
one formed by the junction of the northerly line of the alley and
the easterly line of Lot 6, and one formed by the junction of the
southerly line of the alley and the easterly line of Lot 26, also
by abolishing the two right angle corners at the westerly end of

Section 4.
Resolvdd, that the Street Superintendent of the city of
Newport Beach shall, and he is hereby directed to conspicuously
post along the line of the contemplateaimprovement, at not more
than 300 feet in distance apart, but not less than three (3) in all,
notices of the passage of this Resolution; each notice shall be
headed - NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORK - in letters of not less than one
inch in length, shall be in legible characters,state the fact of
the passage cf this Resolution, its date, and briefly the improve-
ment proposed, and refer to this resolution for further particulars.
There is no daily newspaper published and circulated in
the city of Newport Beach, the Street Superintendent shall there-
fore cause a notice similar in substance to be published by four
successive insertions in NEWPORT NEWS, a weekly newspaper published
and circulated in the city of Newport Beach, and which NEWPORT NEWS
is hereby designated for that purpose.
The above and foregoing Resolution was introduced befora
the Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 15th day of May, 1922, read, consilared,
designated Resolution. of Intention No. and passed by the vote
of the following named members of said Board of Trustees:
