A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Newport Beach directing the makir_a and filing
of a tentative report con - erning the dividing of the
cityof Newport Beach into 6istricts.
Whereas, it is deemed advisable for the 'oublic interest,
health, comfort and convenience and the public welfare of the city
of Newport Beach and the inhabitants thereof that said city or c,=r-
tain parts thereof be dividea into districts,in some of which dis-
tricts it shall be lay *rful,and in order of which it shall be unlaw-
ful, to erect, construct, alter, or mz.intain certain buildings or
carry on certain trades or callings;
Whereas, there is no city planning commission in the Ci
of Na;rport Beach;
Be it resolved, that the Boar: of Trustees of the city o
Newport Beach, as the council thereof, proceed94 to make a tentativ
rei,ort,arrange for, anf, hold public m= etings, make a final report
and afford all persons particularly int- rested and the general Dubi
an opportunity to be heard at the time and place and in the manner
as provided for by Section 4 of an Act 'of the Legislature of the
Stateof California, entitled: "An act to provide for the -stablish-
ment within muni:ioalitias of !istricts or zones within which the
use of prop?rty, height of improvdments and ceaui;ite open splices
for light --.nd ventilation of such buildings, may be regulated by
ordinances."
The above and foregoing Resolution was r=�ularly intro-
duced before the Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach at
a meeting thereof held on tae 25th day of June, 19P3, and passed by
the following vote:
