RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of the City of New-
port Beach, California, that the public interest and convenience
require the work hereinafter described to be done, and therefore
the said Board of Trustees hereby orders the following work to
be done and improvement to be made in said City, to -wit:
SECTION 1.
The grading and construction of concrete pavement, con-
Crete curbs and granite concrete ornamental lighting posts, con-
duits, wires and appurtenances for the successful operation of
an ornamental lighting system and otherwise improving portions
of 14th Street, Broad Street, San Bernardino Avenue and Ocean
Diive in said City, all as more particularly described in Resolu-
tion of Intention No. 279, as adopted by the Board of Trustees
of said City on the 24th day of December, 1923, and on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said City. For further particulars,
reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 279
and to the plans, profiles, drawings and cross - sections on file
in the office of the City Engineer of said City and according to
the specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk of
said City and all of said plane, profiles, drawings, cross -sec-
tions and specifications heretofore approved by said Board of
Trustees are incorporated herein and made a part hereof and ref-
erence is hereby made thereto for a more particular descrilrtion
of said work.
SECTION 2.
The said Board of Trustees also determined and declared
that serial bonds shall be issued to represent each assessment of

Twenty -five Dollars or more remaining unpaid for 20 days after
the date of warrant. For a particular description of said bonds
reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention.
SECTION 3.
The said Board of Trustees also determined and declared
that the contemplated work and izoprovement hereinbefore mentioned
was in the opinion of said Board of Trustees of more than local
or ordinary public benefit and the expense of said work and im-
provement has been made chargeable upon a district. For a parti-
cular description of said district reference is hereby made to
said Resolution of Intention.
SECTION 4.
That sealed bids for said work shall be received up to
7;30 o'clock P. M. of the 11th day of February, 1924, at which
time said bids will be publicly opened, examined, and declared
by this Board.
The City Clerk is herebydirected to post a notice invit-
ing sealed bids for said work with the specifications therefor,
conspicuously for five days, on or near the council chamber door
of this Board, and to publish a like notice referring to the speci-
fications posted, or on file twice in the Newport News, a weekly
newspaper published and circulated in said City, and hereby desig-
nated for that purpose, there being no daily newspaper in said
City.
