A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
• CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH,ORDERING THE IMPROVE -
MENT OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF PARK AVENUE AND
• CERTAIN OTHER STREETS AND AVENUES ON BALBOA
ISLAND WITHIN SAID CITY.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beauh do
resolve as follows:
SECTION L.
That the public interest and convenience require the work
hereinafter described to be done, and therefore the said Board of
Trustees hereby orders the following work to be done and improve-
went to be made in said City,to wit:
That the roadway of Emerald Avenue' Garnet Avenue,Pearl
Avenue,Agate Avenue, Opal Avenue,Topaz Avenue,Turquoise Avenue,
Collins Avenue,Ruby Avenue,Diamond Avenue,Sapphire Avenue,Coral
Avenue,Apolena Avenue, Amethyst Avenue,Onyx Avenue,Marine Avenue,
Abalone Avenue, Crystal Avenue, Jade Avenue,Central Avenue and Park
Avenue be graded and have constructed thereupon a concrete pavement, and
that cement concrete curbs and cement concrete sidewalk be constructed
along the roadway of all of the above described streets except where
cement concrete curbs and cement concrete sidewalks already exist; and
except that certain small portions of the existing cement concrete
curbs and cement concrete sidewalks along certain portions of the above
described street which are broken and in bad condition,be removed
and new cement concrete curb and cement concrete sidewalk constructed
in place thereof; and that pipes,hydrants and other aplliances and
appurtenances for supplying and distributing domestic water and for
fire protection be constructed in certain portions of the above described
streets and in certain alleys on Balboa Island all as more particularly
described in Resolution of Intention No.:312 as adopted by the Board of
• Trustees of said City on January,5th,1925 and on file in the
office of the City Clerk of said City. For further particulars,
reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 312,
and to the plans, profiles, drawings and cross - sections on file
in the office of the City Engineer of said City, and according to
the specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk of
said City, and all of said plans, profiles, drawings, cross -sec-
tions and specifications heretofore approved by said Board of
Trustees are incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and
reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular description
of said work.
SECTION II.
Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid
assessments, and bear interest at the rate of seven (7) per cent
per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the
Improvement Bond Act of 1915, the last installment of which bonds
shall mature fourteen (14) years from the second day of July next
succeeding ten months from their date.
SECTION III.
The said Board of Trustees also determined and declared that
the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore mentioned was,
in the opinion of the said Board, of more than local or ordinary
public benefit and the expense of said work and improvement has
been made chargeable upon a district. For a particular descrip-
tion of said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution

• SECTION IV.
That sealed bids for said work srhall be received up to 7:30
o'clock, P.M. of the 16th day of February, 1925, at which time
said bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared by this
Board.

The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice inviting
• sealed bids for said work with the specifications therefor, con-
spicuously for five days, on or near the council chamber door of
this Board, and to publish a like notice referring to the spe-
cifications posted, or on file, twice in The Newport News, a
weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City,
and hereby designated for that purpose, (there being no daily
newspaper in said City).
