A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
CITY OF N=ORT BEACH DECLARING THEIR INTEN-
TION TO ORDER THE ILPROVE 0NT OF CERTAIN POR-
TIONS OF COAST BOULEVARD 4'7ITHIN SAID CITY,
UNDER THE =PROVKrENT ACT OF 1911, AND THE
AMENDMENTS TO SAID ACT.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do
resolve as follows:
SECTION I.
That the public interest and convenience require, and it
is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Netrport
Beach, California., to order the c3netruction of the follotrinL de-
scribed work and improvement in said City, to -wit:
That granite concrete ornamental lighting posts, conduits,
wires and, appurtenances for the successful operation of an orna-
mental street lighting system be constructed upon certain portions
of Coast Boulevard from the northwesterly curb line of 38th Street
to a line, which line is five (5) feet northwesterly of and parallel
with the northwesterly line of that part of 45th Street lying
southwesterly of Coast Boulevard.
All of the foregoing work and improvement is fully set
forth, delineated and described on plans, profiles, cross - sections
and detailed drawings No. 313, on file in the office of the City
Engineer of said City, heretofore approv;e�l by the Board of Trustees
of the City of Newport Beach on the 1 day of 1925,
by Resolution No. and in specifications No. 38, adopted by
Resolution No. 321, of the Board of Trustees of said City, and on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. The said plans,
profiles, cross - sections, detailed drawings and specifications are
hereby referred to for the full and detailed description of the said
proposed work and improvement.

• SECTION II.
• That the Board of Trustees also determine and declare
that serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of seven per cent
(7%) per annum shall be issued to represent each assessment of
Twenty -five (25.00) Dollars, or more, remaining unpaid for tiventy
(20) days after the date of the warrant. Said serial bonds shall
extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of
January next succeeding the fifteenth (15th) day of the next
1 ?ovember follor-ing their date. Payments on the principal of un-
paid assessments, and interest, shall be made by property ormers
to.the City Treasurer and the same shall be disbursed by him, all
as provided in the said Improvement Act of 1911:
SECTION III.
That the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore
mentioned is, in the opinion of said Board of Trustees, of more than
local or ordinary public benefit, and the expense of said work and
improvement is made chargeable upon the district hereinafter de-
scribed and said Board of Trustees do: hereby declare said district
to be the district benefited by said work and improvement, and to
be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, which district is
bounded and described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the most westerly corner of Lot 20, Block
45, of River Section, as per map thereof recorded in miscellaneous
Yaps, Book 4, page 25, Records of Orange County, California; thence
southeasterly in a direct line to the most southerly corner of Lot
19, Block 43, of the aforesaid River Section; thence southeasterly

the aforesaid. River Section; thence southeasterly in a direct line
to the most southerly corner of Lot 17, Block 40, of the aforesaid
River Section; thence southeasterly in a direct line to the most
westerly corner of Lot 12, Block 39, of the aforesaid River Section;

thence southeasterly in a direct line to the most southerly corner
of Lot 21, Block 38, of the aforesaid River Section; thence south-
easterly along the southeasterly prolongation of the southwesterly
line of the last mentioned Lot 21, to its intersection with the
center line of 38th Street; thence northeasterly along the center
line of 38th Street to its intersection with the southeasterly pro-
longation of the northeasterly line-of Lot 21, Block 138, of Canal
Section, as per map thereof recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book
4, page 98, Records of Orange County, California; thence north -
r;esterly in a direct line to the most easterly corner of the last
mentioned Lot 21; thence northwesterly in a direct line to the most
northerly corner of Lot 4, of the last mentioned Block 138; thence
northerly in 'a direct line to the most easterly corner of Lot 11,
Block 139, of the aforesaid Canal Section; thence northwesterly in
a direct line to the most northerly corner of Lot 4, Block 143, of
the aforesaid Canal Section; thence northerly in a direct line to
the most easterly corner of Lot-1, Block 144, of the aforesaid
Canal Section; thence northwesterly in a. direct line to the south-
easterly corner of Lot 5, Block 145, of the aforesaid Canal Section;
thence northeasterly in a direct line to the northeasterly corner
of the last mentioned Lot 5; thence westerly in a direct line to the
most westerly corner of Lot 8, of the last mentioned Block 145;
hence southwesterly in a direct line to the most westerly corner
of Lot 16, Block 45, of the aforesaid River Section; thence south-
westerly in a direct line to the place of beginning, excepting there-
from any lands forming any part of any public street or alley.
The above description is general.only. A plat or map of
said District No. 314, adopted by Resolution No.-.?30 , of the Board
of Trustees of said City, indicating by a boundary line the extent
of the territory included in the proposed district, is on file in
the office of the City Clerk. Reference is hereby made to said plat
or map for a further full and complete description of the said

• assessment district. The said map or plat so on file shall govern
for all details as to the extent of the said assessment_ district.
.4ECTI0N IV.
Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the 4th day of
Play, 1925, at 7:30 o'clock, P.M., in the Council Chamber of the
City Hall of the said City of Newport Beach, any and all persons
having any objections to the proposed work or improvement, or to
the extent of the district, or both, may apneas before the said
Board of Trustees and show cause why said proposed improvement
should not be carried out in accordance with this Resolution.
SECTION V.
The Newport News, a semi - weekly newspaper printed, pub-
lished and circulated in the City of Newport Beach, is hereby des-
ignated as the newspaper in which this Resolution of Intention shall
be published, and for the publication of all other notices, reso-
lutions, orders or other matter required to be published by the pro-
visions of the Improvement Act of 1911, hereinafter referred to, and
the City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to cause this Reso-
lution of Intention to be published by two insertions in said news-
paper in the manner and form required by law. The Board of Trustees
do not deem it advisable that the Clerk mail copies of the notice
of improvement to owners, or reputed owners, and he is not required
to mail the same.
SECTION VI.
The Street Superintendent of said City shall, aftee the
adoption of said Resolution of Intention, cause to be conspicuously
posted along the lines of said contemplated work or improvement,
and alon6 all the open streets within the hereinbefore described
assessment district, notices of the passage of this Resolution of
Intention in the manner and form required by law.

SECTION VII.
All the proceedings for the aforesaid work and improve-
ment shall be had and taken under and in accordance with the pro-
visions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California,
designated as the t[Improvement Act of 191111, approved April 7th,
1911, and Amendments thereto.
