OF COAST BOULEVARD AND CERTAIN OtH'AR STREETS
AND AVENUES IN COROKA DEL i.AR, ?'7ITHIN SAID

THE A - IEITDi:ENT S TO &IID ACT.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do
resolve as follows:
SECTION I
That the public interest and convenience require, and
it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport
Beach, California, to order the construction of the following
described work and improvement in said City, to-wit:
1. That the following described portions of streets be
graded, the road,-tays thereof paved with macadam pavement, and cement
concrete curbs and cement concrete gutters constructed along bot;1

sides of ths roadways, and also cement concrete sidewalks con-
strutted along both sides of said streets:
(a) Acacia Avenue from the southwesterly line of Coast
Boulevard to the southwesterly line of Second Avenue, and from the
northwesterly prolongation of the northeasterly line of First
Avenue to the northeasterly line of Pacific Drive;
(b) Begonia Avenue from the southwesterly line of Coast
Boulevard to a line, which line is one hundred forty -five (145)
feet southwesterly of and parallel with the southwesterly line of
First Avenue;
(c) Carnation Avenue from the northeasterly line of Fourth
Avenue to a line, which line is one hundred ninety (190) feet
southwesterly of and parallel with the southwesterly line of
Second Avenue;
(d) Dahlia Avenue from the southwesterly line of Fifth
Avenue to the easterly line of Coast Boulevard, and from a line
45.74 feet nesterly of and parallel with the westerly line of

Coast Boulevard, to a line, which line is two hundred twenty (220)
feet southwesterly of and 1a rallel �7ith the southwesterly line of
First Avenue;
(e) Fernleaf Avenue from the southwesterly line of Fifth
Avenue to the easterly line of Coast Boulevard, and from the west-
erly line of Coast Boulevard to a line, :Jhich line is t'ao hwldred
thirty (230) feet southwesterly of and parallel with the southwest-
erly line of First Avenue;
(f) Goldenrod Avenue from the southwesterly line of Fifth
Avenue to the easterly line of Coast Boulevard, and from the west-
erly line of Coast Boulevard to a line, which line is t,.-to hundred
forty (240) feet southwesterly of and parallel viith the soutlrrtest-
erly line of First Avenue;
(g) heliotrope Avenue from the southwesterly line of Fifth
Avenue to the easterly line of Coast Boulevard, and from the west-
erly lire of Coast Boulevard to the southwesterly line of First
Avenue;
(h) Iris Avenue from a line, which line is one hundred thirty
(130) feet northeasterly of and parallel with the northeasterly
line of Fourth Avenue to the easterly line of Coast Boulevard,
except that no cement concrete sidewalk is to be constructed along
the southeasterly and southerly side of said Street between Fourth
Avenue and Coast Boulevard; and Iris Avenue from the westerly line
of Coast Boulevard to a line, ', which line is one hundred (100) feet
southwesterly of and parallel with the southwesterly line of First
Avenue, except that no cement concrete sidewalk is to be constructed
along the southerly and southeasterly sides of said portion$ of

(i) Jasmine Avenue from the southwesterly line of Fifth
Avenue to a line, '::hick line is one hundred twenty (120) feet
southwesterly of and parallel with the southwesterly line of Third
Avenue, and from the westerly line of Coast Boulevard to t'e north-
easterly line of Pacific Drive;

to the northeasterly line of Coast Boulevard;
(o) Pansy Avenue from the northeasterly line of Fourth Avenue
to the northeasterly line of Coast Boulevard;
(p) Poppy Avenue from the southeasterly prolongation of the
southwesterly line of Fifth Avenue, to the southwesterly line of
Second Avenue;
(q) Hazel Drive from the southeasterly line of Poppy Avenue
to a line, which line is one hundred eig'.'ity (180) feet northeasterly
of and parallel with the southeasterly prolongation of the north-
easterly line of Second Avenue;
(r) Pacific Drive from the southwesterly prolongation of
the center line of Avocado Avenue to a line drawn at right angles 21-0,0na,
through a point injthe northeasterly line of said Pacific Drive,
which point is 5.51 feet northwesterly of the intersection of the
said northeasterly line of Pacific Drive,and the northwesterly line
of Begonia Avenue, measured along the northeasterly line of said
Pacific Drive;
2. That Avocado Avenue between the southeasterly line and
the center line of said ftreet, from the southwesterly line of
Coast Boulevard to a line, which line is ninety -five (95) feet
southwesterly of and parallel with the northwesterly prolongation
of the southwesterly line of Second Avenue, and from a line, which
line is forty -one (41) feet southwesterly of and parallel with the

southwesterly line of Fifth Avenue, to the southwesterly line of
Second Avenue;

to a line, which line is one hundred eig'.'ity (180) feet northeasterly
of and parallel with the southeasterly prolongation of the north-

alley northeasterly of Pacific Drive, to the northwesterly prolonga-
• tion of the northeasterly line of Pacific Drive, be graded, the
roadway thereof paved with macadam pavement, and cement concrete
curb and cement concrete gutter constructed along the southeasterly
side of the roadvray thereof, and cement concrete sidewalk constructed
along the southeasterly side of said portions of said 6treet.
3. That Avocado Avenue between the southeasterly line and
the center line of said street from a line, which line is ninety -
five (95) feet southwesterly of and parallelviith the northwesterly
prolongation of the southwesterly line of Second Avenue, to a line,
trhich line is forty -one (41) feet southwesterly of and parallel with
the northwesterly prolongation of the southwesterly line of the
x first alley northeasterly of Pacific Drive, be graded, the roadway I'4reof'
paved with cement concrete pavements _ ent concrete curb constructed
along the southeasterly side of the road-ray thereof, and cement
concrete sidewalk constructed along the southeasterly side of said
street.
4. That the following described portions of streets be
graded, the roadways thereof paved with cement concrete ravement
and cement concrete curbs constructed along both sides of the
roadways thereof, and cement concrete sidewalks constructed along
both sides of said streets:
(a) Acacia Avenue from the southwesterly line of Second
Avenue to the northwesterly prolongation of the northeasterly line
of First Avenue;
(b) Begonia Avenue from a line, which line is one hundred
forty -five (145) feet southwesterly of and parallel with the south-
westerly line of First Avenue to the northerly line of Pacific
Drive, except that no cement concrete sidewalk is to be constructed
on the southeasterly side of said street from a line, which line is
one hundred seventy (170) feet southwesterly of and parallel pith
the sout'.rnesterly line of First Avenue to the northerly line of

Pacific Drive;
(c) Carnation Avenue from the westerly line of Coast Boulevard
to the northeasterly line of Fourth Avenue, and from a line, which
line is one hundred ninety (190) feet southwesterly of and parallel
with the southwesterly line of Second Avenue,to the northeasterly
line of First Avenue;
(d) Dahlia Avenue from the westerly line of Coast Boulevard
to a line, which line is 45.74 feet westerly of and parallel :with
the westerly line of Coast Boulevard;
(e) Heliotrope Avenue from the scuthtaesterly line of First
Avenue to the northeasterly line of Pacific Drive;
(f) Iris Avenue from the southwesterly line of Fifth Avenue
to a line, which line is one hundred thirty (130) feet northeasterly
of and parallel with the northeasterly line of Fourth Avenue,, and
from a line, which line is one hundred (100) feet southwesterly of
and parallel with the southwesterly line of First Avenue to the

twenty (120) feet southwesterly of and parallel with the south-
westerly line of Third Avenue to the easterly line of Coast

(h) Larkspur Avenue from the westerly line of Coast Boulevard
to the no= ^theasterly line of Pacific Drive;
(i) ITarcissus Avenue from the southwesterly line of Fifth
Avenue to a line, which line is one hundred fifty -five (155) feet
northeasterly of and parallel with the northeasterly line of
Fourth Avenue;
(j) Pansy Avenue from the southwesterly line of Fifth Avenue
to the northeasterly line of 'Fourth Avenue;
(k) Poppy Avenue from the southwesterly line of Second Avenue
to the northeasterly line of Coast Boulevard;

Avenue to the northwesterly line of Acacia Avenue, except that no
cement concrete sidewalk is to be constructed along any portion of
said street;
(m) Hazel Drive from a line, which line is one hundred eighty
(180) feet northeasterly of and parallel with the southeasterly
prolongation of the northeasterly line of Second Avenue, to the
northeasterly line of Coast Boulevard;
(n) First Avenue froin the southeasterly line of Begonia
Avenue to the northwesterly line of Dahlia Avenue, except that
cement concrete sidewalk shall be constructed only at the northerly
ids
and easterly corners of ttm intersection with Carnation Avenue;
(o) At the intersection of Begonia Avenue and Pacific Drive,
and also that part of Pacific Drive from the southwesterly prolonga-
tion of the northwesterly line of Begonia Avenue to a line, which

of said Pacific Drive, which point is 5.51 feet nort1ruesterly of
the intersection of the northeasterly line of Pacific Drive and the
northwesterly line of Begonia Avenue, measured along the northeast-
erly line of said Pacific Drive, except that no cement concrete
sidewalk is to be constructed along the southeasterly side of said
intersection from the northeasterly.line of Pacific Drive to the
southeasterly prolongation of the northeasterly curb line of said
Pacific Drive.
5. That cement concrete cross gutters be constructed across
the roadway of the following streets, and in the following locations:
(a) Across 2ernleaf Avenue along the northeasterly and south-
westerly sides of the roadway of First Avenue;
(b) Across Goldenrod Avenue along the northeasterly and
southwesterly sides of the roadway of Second Avenue.
6. That cement concrete curb be constructed along the south-
westerly and westerly sides of the roadway of Coast Boulevard
between the northeasterly prolongation of the center line of

Avocado Avenue and the center line of Marguerite Avenue, and along
• the northeasterly and easterly sides of the roadway of Coast
Boulevard between the northvaesterly prolongation of the southwesterly

line of Fifth Avenue and a line drawn at right angles -j hrough a
point in.,the northeasterly line of Coast Boulevard, which point is
64.09 feet southeasterly of the southeasterly line of Fazel Drive,
measured along the northeasterly line of said Coast Boulevard.
�. That all those portions of Coast Boulevard lying between
the south *. ,7esterly and westerly lines of said Coast Boulevard, and
a line, which line is thirty (30) feet northeaste:l y and easterly
of and parallel with the said southwesterly and westerly lines of
said Coast Boulevard, from the northeasterly prolongation of the
center line of Avocado Avenue to the southwesterly prolongation of
the north,:resterly line of that part of Marguerite Avenue lying
northeasterly of Coast Boulevard, be graded.
That cement concrete pavement be constructed upon the
roadway of that portion of Coast Boulevard, hereinbefore described,
in the following locations:
(a) Frora the northeasterly prolongation of the center line of
Avocado Avenue to a line, which line is twenty (20) feet south-
easterly of and parallel with the northeasterly prolongation of the
southeasterly line of Avocado Avenue;
(b) From a line, which line is twenty (20) feet northwesterly
of and parallel with the northwesterly line of the following
streets, to a line, which line is twenty (20) feet southeasterly
of and parallel with the southeasterly line of the following
S streets, viz: Those portions of Acacia Avenue, Begonia Avenue and
Carnation Avenue lying southwesterly of said Coast Boulevard;
(c) From a line, which line is tvienty (20) feet northerly of
and parallel with the northerly line of the following streets,
to a line, which line is twenty (20) feet southerly of and
parallel with the southerly line of the following streets, viz:

(b) Second Avenue from the southeasterly line of Avocado

therefrom tae in'ersections with Acacia Avenue, Begonia Avenue,
Carnation Avenue, Dahlia Avenue, Fernleaf Avenue and Goldenrod
Avenue;
(c) Second !`.venue from the southeasterly line of Jasmine :avenue
to the northwesterly line of IIazel Drive, excepting therefrom the
intersections with ,ar'.�sour Avenue, :iarguerite -Avenue, i arirold
Avenue, b;arcissus Avenue, Orchid Avenue, Pansy Lvenue and Poppy
Avenue;
(d) Third Avenue from the southeasterly lire of Avocado Avenue
to the nortli•.iesterly line of Fernleaf Avenue, excepting therefron
the intersections �rrith Acacia Avenue, Begonia Avenue, Carnation
Avenue and Dahlia Lvenue;
(e) Third Avenue from the southeasterly line of Heliotrope
Avenue to the northwesterly line of Poppy Avenue, excepting there-
from the intersections with Iris Avenue, Jasmine Avenue, Larlcspur
Avenue, ,.arguerite Avenue, :arig,

(f) Fourth Avenue from the

Avenue, Orchid Avenue and Pansy Avenue:
That cement concrete gutters be constructed along both
sides of the roadway of those portions of First Avenue, Second livenue,
Third Avenue, and Fourth Avenue,hereinbefore described, at the
intersections of all alleys with said First Avenue, Second Avenue,
Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue.
10. (a) That Canyon Drive, from the southwesterly line of
First Avenue to the northeasterly line of Pacific Drive, be graded,
the roadway thereof to be paved with cement concrete pavement, and
cement concrete curb constructed along both sides of the roadway
of said Canyon Drive.
For all purposes of this proceeding, that certain public
street in the City of hTewport Beach described as beginning at a
point in the Bouthyresterly line of First Avenue, which point is
1.32 feet northwesterly of the southwesterly prolongation of the
southeasterly line of Carnation Avenue, measured along the south-
westerly line of said First Avenue; thence northwesterly around a
circular curve with a radius of forty (40) feet concave to the
southwest a distance of 27.96 feet to a point; thence South 69
degrees 57 minutes "eat 33.30 feet to a point; thence westerly
around a circular curve with a radius of tvo hundred thirty -five
(235) feet concave to the South,a distance of 106.64 feet to a
point;'thence South 63 degrees 52 minutes 'lest 226.02 feet to a
point in the northeasterly line of Pacific Drive; thence North
78 degrees 47 minutes '":est, along the northeasterly line of said
Pacific Drive, a distance of 66.72 feet, to a point; thence north-
easterly around a circular curve with a radius of one hundred
thirty (130) feet concave to the southeast, a distance of 50.41
feet, to a point; thence North 53 degrees 52 minutes ':ast, a dis-

tance of trio hundred thirty (230) feet to a point; thence north-
easterly around a circular curve with a radius of two hundred
` eighty -five (285) feet concave to the southeast, a distance of
73.54 feet to a point; thence northeasterly and northwesterly
around a circular curve with a radius of twenty (20) feet concave
to the northwest, a distance of 44..94 feet to a point in the south -
rresterly line of First Avenue; thence South 50 degrees mast, along
the southwesterly line of said First Avenue, a distance of 137.84
feet to a point, the place of beginning, is herein referred to and
designated as Canyon Drive, and the name thereof is hereby declared
to be and established as Canyon Drive, and so referrer to.
(b) That all that portion of Pacific Drive described as
beginning at a point in the northeasterly line of said Pacific
Drive, which point is 38.42 feet southeasterly of the southeasterly
line of Begonia Avenue, measured along the northeasterly line of
said Pacific Drive; thence South 78 degrees 47 minutes Last, along
the northeasterly line of said Pacific Drive, a distance of 66.72
feet to a point; thence South 63 degrees 52 minutes 1.7est, a distance
of 3.98 feet to a point; thence southwesterly around a circular
curve with a radius of eighty (80) feet concave to the southeast
a distance of 52.34 feet to a point; thence South 26 degrees 28
minutes 'lest, a distance of 84.18 feet to a point in the sout'',west-
erly line of said Pacific Drive; thence North 78 degrees 47 ninutes
rest, along the southwesterly line of said Pacific Drive, a distance
of 53.60 feet to a point; thence northeasterly around a circular
curve with a radius of seventy -five (75) feet concave to the north-
crest a distance of 2.55 feet to a point; thence Forth 26 degrees
28 minutes Last, a distance of 99.20 feet to a point; thence
northeasterly, around a circular curve with a radius of one hundred
thirty (130) feet concave to the southeast, a distance of 34.64
feet, to a point in the northeasterly line of said Pacific drive, the
place of beginning, shall.be graded for its entire width and a
cement concrete pavement thirty (30) feet in width shall be con-

strutted upon certain portions of that part of Pacific Drive herein -
before described, extending from the northeasterly line of said
Pacific Drive to the south�-resterly line of said Pacific Drive, and
cement concrete curb be constructed along the northwesterly side of
said concrete pavement, and along a certain portion of the south-
easterly side of said cement concrete pavement;
(c) That all that portion of the County Road described as
beginn_ng at a point in the southwesterly line of Pacific Drive,
which point is 254.92 feet South and 493.19 feet 'rest of the inter-
section of the center lines of First Avenue and Carnation Avenue;
thence South 78 degrees 47 minutes L•'ast;'along the southwesterly
line of Pacific Drive, a distance of 53.60 feet, to a point; thence
South 26 degrees 28 ninutes ".est, a distance of 15.02 feet to a
point; thence southwesterly around a circular curve with a radius
of one hundred t.-renty -five (125) feet, concave to the northwest,a

Coast Boulevard at its intersection with that portion of Fernleaf
• Avenue lying resterly of Coast Boulevard, and along the southeast-
erly side of said Fernleaf Avenue, a distance of eighty (80) feet
southwesterly of the westerly line of Coast Boulevard.
15. That reinforced concrete pipe culvert, together with catch
basins and other appurtenances, be constructed across Fernleaf
.Avenue between Second Avenue and T: -iird Avenue.

Avenue between Dahlia Avenue and Feinleaf Avenue; also across Third
Avenue between Jasmine Avenue and Iris Avenue; also across Fourth
Avenue between Jasmine Avenue and Iris Avenue.
19. That reinforced concrete pipe culvert, together with
catch basins and other appurtenances, be constructed across a part
of the northerly portion of Coast Boulevard near its intersection
with L"arguerite Avenue.
20. That reinforced concrete pipe culvert, together with
catch basins, head :'galls and appurtenances, be constructed from a
point in the northeasterly line of First Avenue, which point is
tvrenty -three (23) feet southeasterly of the southeasterly line of
Carnation Avenue; thence westerly and southwesterly across First
Avenue, and in and along Canyon Drive, in and across Pacific Drive,
in and along County Road to a point in the southwesterly line of
said County Road, which point is at the intersection of a line,
.• which line is twenty -eight (28) feet northwesterly of and parallel
with the southwesterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of
Begonia Avenue.
21. That cement concf +ete steps, landings and inclined walkway
be constructed in a portion of the intersection of Begonia Avenue

lished and circulated in the City of ifewport Beach, is hereby
designated as the ne°rspaper in which this F.esolution of Intention
shall be published, and for the publication of all other notices,
resolutions, orders or other matter required to be published by the
provisions of the Improvement Act of 1911 hereinafter refe-red to,
and the City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to cause this
Resolution of Intention to be published by two insertions in said
ne•:isoaper in the manner and form required by law. The Board of
Trustees do not deem it advisable that the Clerk mail copies of
the notice of improvement to owners, or reputed owners, and he is
not required to mail the same.
SECTION VI
The Street Superintendent of said City shall., after the
adoption of said I;esolution of Intention, cause to be consiicuously
posted along the lines of said contemplated work or improvement,
and along all the. open streets within the hereinbefore described
assessment district, notices of the passage of this Resolution of
Intention, in the manner and form required by law.
SBC'TION VII
Wxcept as hereinbefore stated, all the proceedings for
_ the aforesaid work and improvement shall be had and tal.en under and
in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the ',egislature of
