A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING THEIR.INTENTION
TO ORDER THE IMPROVEMENT OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF
22nd STREET, THE ARCADE AND OTHER STREETS
WITHIN SAID CITY, UNDER THE IMPROVEMENT ACT OF
1911, AND THE AVENDMENTS.TO SAID ACT.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do
resolve as follows;
SECTION I
That the public interest and convenience require, and
it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of .the City of
Newport Beach, California, to order the construction of the
following described work and improvement in said City, to -wit;
That 22nd Street from the easterly curb line of Central
Avenue to the northwesterly prolongation of the southwesterly line
of that part of The Arcade lying southeasterly of said 22nd Street,
all of The Arcade, and that certain alley of Tract No. 814, as per
Map thereof recorded in Miscellaneous Maps; Book pages 3J vgq'3
Records of orange County, California, and extending southwesterly
from The Arcade, be graded, and that cement concrete pavement be
constructed upon portions of the above described streets, and
that cement concrete curbs and cement concrete sidewalks be con-
structed along both sides of the aforesaid 22nd Street, and at
the intersection of 22nd Street and The Arcade, and that cement
pipe sanitary sewers together with manholes, cast iron frames and
covers, lampholes and other appurtenances be constructed on the
grades at the elevations and along the lines of said sewers in
the intersection of 22nd Street and Central Avenue from the cement
pipe sanitary sewer now in place along the easterly side of said
Central Avenue; thence easterly in and along said intersection, and
in and along those portions of 22nd Street, The Arcade, and the
alley hereinbefore described, and that cast iron pipe and other ,

appliances and appurtenances for supplying and distributing
domestic water be constructed in and along certain portions of the
above described streets, including the construction of granite
concrete ornamental lighting posts, conduits, wires and appurte-
nances for the successful operation of an ornamental street light-
ing system upon certain portions of 22nd Street hereinbefore de-
scribed,.and certain portions of the intersection of sai& 22nd
Street with The Arcade and Central Avenue.
The grades to which the work provided for shall be done
and the improvement made upon the portions of 22nd Street, The
Arcade and other. streets hereinbefore described, which are provided
for in this Resolution, are the grades shown can the profiles
therefor on file in the office of the City Engineer, to which said
profiles reference is hereby made for the descriptions of such
grades.
All of the foregoing work and - improvement is fully set
forth, delineated and described on plans, profiles, cross - sections
and detailed drawings 16.1 334, on file in the office of the City
Engineer of said City, heretofore approved by the Board of Trustees
of the City of Newport Beach on the �jr� day of January, 1927,
by Resolution No.,4a__'�, and in Specifications No. 27, adopted by
Resolution No. 97, as said Specifications No. 27 are amended by
Resolution No. 131, and in Specifications No. 36 adopted by
Resolution No. 302, and Specifications No. 38 adopted by Resolution
No. 321, and in Specifications No. 39 adopted by Resolution No.
346 of the Board of Trustees of said City and on file in the office
• of the City Clerk of said City. The said plans, profiles, cross-
sections, detailed drawings and specifications are hereby referred
'to for the full and detailed description.of the said proposed work
and improvement.

SECTION II.
That the Board•of Trustees also determine and declare
that serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of seven (7) per
cent per annum shall be issued to represent each assessment of
Twenty -five (25.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid for twenty
(20) days after the date of the warrant. Said serial bonds shall
extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of
January next succeeding the fifteenth (15th) day of the next
November following their date. Payments on the principal of
unpaid assessments, and interest, shall be made by property owners
to the City Treasurer and the same shall be disbursed by him,
all as provided in the said Improvement Act of 1911.
SECTION III.
That the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore
mentioned is, in the opinion of said Board of Trustees, of more
than local or ordinary public benefit, and the expense of said
work and improvement is made chargeable upon the district herein-
after:described and said Board of Trustees do hereby declare said
district to be the district benefited by said work and improvement,
and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, which
district is bounded and described as follows, to9witr
Beginning at the northwesterly corner of Lot 1, of
Tract No. 814, as per map thereof recorded in Miscellaneous Laps,
Book 2 page s'3S-ano1.�,v �Recorda of Orange County, California;
thence southerly.in a direct line to the southwest corner of Lot
15, of the aforesaid Tract No. 814; thence westerly along the
• westerly „prolongation of the southerly line of the last mentioned
• Lot 15, to its intersection with the center line of Central Avenue;
thence southerly along the.center line of said Central Avenue
to its intersection with the westerly prolongation of the northerly
line of Lot 18, of the aforesaid Tract No. 814; thence easterly

• along the westerly prolongation of the last mentioned northerly
line of Lot 18, to the northwesterly corner of said Lot 18; thence
southerly and southeasterly along the westerly and southwesterly
lines of Lots 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22, of the aforesaid Tract No.
814, to the most southerly corner of the.last mentioned Lot 22;
thence northeasterly in a direct line to the most northerly corner
of Lot 5, Block 221, of Section A, Newport Beach, as per rap
thereof recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 4, page 21 ,
Records of Orange County, California; thence southeasterly along
the'northeasterly line of the last mentioned Lot 5, to the most
easterly corner of said Lot 5; thence northeasterly in a direct
line to the most southerly corner of Lot 12, of the aforesaid
Block 221; thence northwesterly along the southwesterly line of the
last mentioned Lot 12, to the most westerly corner of said Lot
12; thence northeasterly in a direct line to the most easterly
corner of Lot 10, of the aforesaid Tract No. 814; thence north-
westerly in a direct line to the most northerly corner of Lot
1, of the aforesaid Tract No. 814; thence southwesterly along the
northwesterly line of the last mentioned Lot 1, to the place of
beginning, excepting therefrom any lidds forming any,part of any
public street or alley.

. SECTION IV. to
Notice is hereby given that on Monday, day of
4/9Uo1' V .1927, at 7;30 o'clock, P.R., in the Council
Chamber of the City Hall of the said City of Newport Beach, any
and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or
improvement or to the extent of the district, or both, may appear
before the said Board of Trustees and show cause why said proposed
improvement should not be carried out in.accordance with this
Resolution.
SECTION V.
The Newport News, a weekly newspaper, printed, published
and circulated in the City.of'Newport Beach, is hereby designated
as the newspaper in which this Resolution of Intention shallbe
published, and for the publication of all other notices, resolu-
tions, orders or other matter required to be published by the
provisions of the Improvement Act of 1911, hereinafter referred to
and the City.Clerk of said City is hereby directed to cause this
Resolution of Intention to be published by two insertions in said
:newspaper in the manner and form required by law. The Board of
Trustees do not deem it advisable that the Clerk mail copies of tle
notice of improvement to owners, or reputed owners, and he is not
required to mail the same.
SEOTION VI
The Street Superintendent of said City shall', after the
adoption of said Resolution of Intention, cause to be conspicuously
. posted along the lines of said contemplated work or improvement, and
• along all the open streets within the. herein before described assess -
ment distriot, notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention
in the manner and form required by law.

• SECTION VII.
All the proceedings for the aforesaid work and improve-
ment shall be had and taken under and in accordance with the pro-
visions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California,
designated as the "Improvement Act of 191111, approved April 7th,
1911, and Amendments thereto.
