A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO ORDER THE PLANTING, PROTECTION
AND MAINTENANCE OF TREES, SHRUBS, PLANTS
AND GRASS ALONG AND IN CERTAIN PORTIONS
OF OCEAN BOULEVARD AND OTHER STREETS IN
CORONA DEL MAR, WITHIN SAID CITY, UNDER
THE "TREE PLANTING ACT OF 1915".

The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do
resolve as follows:
SECTION I.
That the public interest and convenience require and

it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Newport Beach, California, to order the planting, protection and
maintenance of trees along and in the following streets in said
City, to -grit:
1. In and along the following streets between Coast Boulevard
and Pacific Drive:
Avocado Avenue, Acacia Avenue and Begonia Avenue.
2. In and along Carnation Avenue between Coast Boulevard and
First Avenue.
3. In and along Canyon Drive between First Avenue and
Pacific Drive.
4. In and along the following streets between Fifth Avenue
and Pacific Drive:
Dahlia Avenue, Fernleaf Avenue, Goldenrod Avenue,
Heliotrope Avenue, Iris Avenue, Jasmine Avenue and Larkspur Avenue.
5.. In and along the following streets between Fifth Avenue
and Ocean Boulevard:
Marguerite Avenue, Marigold Avenue, Narcissus Avenue,
Orchid Avenue, Pansy Avenue and Poppy Avenue.
6. In and along all of Hazel Drive.

7. In and along Carnation Avenue and Dahlia Avenue between
Seaview Avenue and Ocean Boulevard.
8. In and along the following streets between Pacific Drive
and Ocean Boulevard:
Fernleaf Avenue, Goldenrod Avenue, Heliotrope Avenue,
Iris Avenue, Jasmine Avenue and Larkspur Avenue.
9. In and along Fourth Avenue, between Avocado Avenue and
Dahlia Avenue.
10. In and along Third Avenue between Avocado Avenue and
Fernleaf Avenue.
11. In and along Second Avenue between Avocado Avenue and
Heliotrope Avenue.
12. In and along Water Front Drive between Avocado Avenue
and Acacia Avenue.
13. In and along First Avenue between Acacia Avenue and
Jasmine Avenue.
14. In and along Pacific Drive between Avocado Avenue and
Begonia Avenue.
15. In and along Fourth Avenue between Goldenrod Avenue
and Poppy Avenue.
16. In and along Third Avenue between Heliotrope Avenue and
Poppy Avenue.
17. In and along Second Avenue between Jasmine Avenue and
Hazel Drive.
18. In and along Seavlew Avenue between Carnation Avenue and
Poppy Avenue.
19. In and along Bay view Drive between Ocean Boulevard and
Iris Avenue.
• 20. The planting, protection and maintenance of trees, Shrubs,
plants and grass in and along certain portions of Ocean Boulevard

between Carnation Avenue and Poppy Avenue.
SECTION II.
That the Board of Trustees also determines and deolares
that the care and maintenanoe of said trees, shrubs, plants and
grass shall be for a period of five (5) years.
SECTION III
The said proposed improvement herein described is hereby
referred to the City Engineer (there being no Board, Commission
or officer in oharge of tree planting created by law or ordinance
within said City) and he is hereby directed to make and file with
the City Clerk and Ex- officlo.Clerk of the Board of-Trustees a
report in writing presenting the following;
1. Plans and specifications for the work to be performed
and the general method and manner of making the improvement.
2. An estimate of the cost of said improvement, including
the incidental expenses in connection therewith and the annual
cost of the maintenance thereof for a period of five (5) years.
3. A diagram of the property affeoted or benefited by
the proposed work or improvement and to be assessed to pay the
expenses thereof, including the annual oost and expenses of main-
tenance; said diagram shall show each separate lot, piece or
subdivision of land and the relative location of the same to the
work proposed to be done, all within the limits of the assessment
district, each of which lots, pieces or subdivisions shall be
given a separate number in red ink upon said diagram.
4. The proposed assessment of the total amount of the costs
and expenses of the proposed improvement ( inoluding all incidental
• expenses) upon the lots, pieces or subdivisions of land within
said assessment district, as shown by said diagram, sufficient
to cover the total expenses of the improvement. Each lot, piece
or subdivision shall be separately assessed in proportion to the
estimated benefits to be received by it. Said assessment shall

refer to said lots, pieces or subdivisions of land upon said
diagram by the respective red ink numbers- thereof -and shall show
the names of the owners, if known, otherwise designating them as
unknown.
SECTION I9.
Upon the filing of the report by the City Engineer
provided for herein, the City Clerk of said City is hereby
directed to present the same to the Board of Trustees for con-
sideration, as provided br law.
SECTION V.
All of the proceedings for said work and improvement
shall be had and taken under and in accordance with the provisions
of an act of the Legislature of the State of California designated
as the „Tree Planting Act of 1915 ", approved June 7th, 1915.
