A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NE?IPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO ORDER THE IMPROVEMENT OF
CERTAIN PORTIONS OF GOLDENROD AVENUE
17ITHIN SAID CITY, UNDER THE IYPROVE]MENT
ACT OF 1911,AND THE AINENDMENTS TO SAID ACT.
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does
resolve as follows:
SECTION I.
That the public interest and convenience require, and
it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, to order the construction of the following
described work and improvement in said City, to -wit:
That a reinforced concrete bridge together with cement
concrete abutments, cement concrete foundations, reinforced concrete
columns, cement concrete walls, cement concrete approaches, cement
concrete pipe drains and inlets and other appurtenances thereto,
including grading, be constructed in, along and upon the south -
easterly,side of Goldenrod Avenue from a line, which line is
220 feet southwesterly of and parallel with the southwesterly line
of First Avenue, across Pacific Drive to a line, which line is
220 feet northeasterly of and parallel with the northeasterly line
of Seaview Avenue.
The grades to which the work provided for shall be done,
and the improvements made upon the portion of Goldenrod Avenue
hereinbefore described, which are provided for in this Resolution,
are the grades shown on the profiles therefor on file in the office
of the City Engineer, to which said profiles reference is hereby
made for the descriptions of such grades.
All of the foregoing =o` and improvement is fully set
forth, delineated and described on plans, profiles, cross - sections
and detailed drawings, No. 350, on file in the office of the City
Engineer of said City, heretofore approved by the City Council

of said City on the zday of C!' , 1928, by
Resolution No 4j; and in Specifications i1I0 . 43 adopted by

No. 97 of thes,City Council o3`aaid City, and on file in the office
of the City Clerk of Said City.' The said -plans, profiles, cross -
sections, detailed drawin6s and apecifications are hereby referred
to for a full and detailed description of the said proposed work
and improvement.
SECTION II.
That the City Council also determines and declares that
serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of seven (7) per cent
per annum shall be issued to represent each assessment of t -enty-
five (25.00) dollars, or more, remaining unpaid for thirty (30)
days after the date of the marrant. Said serial bonds shall
extend over a period endin nine (9) years from the second day of
January next succeeding the fifteenth (15th) day of the next
November following their date. Payments on the principal of
unpaid assessments and interest shall be made by property owners
to the City Treasurer and the same shall be disbursed by him,
all as provided in the said Improvement Acct of 1911.
SECTION III.
That the contemplated cork and. improvement hereinbefore
mentioned is, in the opinion of the City Council, of more than
local or ordinary public benefit, and the expense of said work and
improvement is made chargeable upon the district hereinafter
described, and said City Council does hereby declare said district
to be the district benefited by said rock and improvement, and to
be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, which district
is bounded and described as follows$ to -wit:
Bet,inning at the most - esterly corner of Lot 2, Block
331, of Corona del Lar, as per map thereof recorded in Book 3,
pages 41 and 42, of ?;iscellaneous saps, Records of Orange County,
California; thence northeasterly in a direct line to the most

northerly corner of Lot 20,' >pf the last mentioned Block 331;
• • thence north?:esterly in a dire line to the most ^resterly corner
of Lot 1, Block 430, of the aforesaid Corona del yar; thence
northeasterly in a direct line to the most southerly corner of
Lot 3, Block B, of Tract No. 470, as per map thereof recorded in
Book 17, page 2.8, of Maps, Records of orange County, California;
thence northeasterly along the southeasterly line of said Lot 3,
to the most easterly corner thereof; thence southeasterly in a
direct line to the most westerly corner of Lot 1, Block K, of
the aforesaid Tract No. 470; thence southeasterly in a direct line
to the most easterly corner of Lot 22, Block 736, of the afore-
said Corona del mar; thence southwesterly in a direct line to
the most southerly corner of Lot 12, Block 536, of the aforesaid
Corona del Yar; thence southwesterly in a direct line to the most
westerly corner of Lot 7, of the last mentioned Block 536; thence
southerly in a direct line to the northeasterly corner of Lot 4,
Block P, of Tract No. 323, as per map thereof recorded in Book
14, pages 40 and 41, of Vaps, Records of Orange County, California;
thence westerly along the northerly line of said Lot 4, to the
northwesterly corner thereof; thence southwesterly in a direct
line to the southeasterly corner of Lot 2, Block H, of the afore-
said Tract No. 323; thence masterly along the southerly line of
said Lot 2, to the southwesterly corner thereof; thence southerly
in a direct line to the most easterly corner of Lot 10, Block
436, of the aforesaid Corona del Mar; thence southeesterly in a
direct line, to the most southerly corner of Lot 2, Block 336,
of the aforesaid Corona del mar; thence northeesterly in a direct
line to a point in the southeasterly line of Goldenrod Avenue,
which point is 25 ftet, northeasterly of the most northerly corner
of Lot 18, Block 2.34, of the aforesaid Corona del ? -ar (measured
along the southeasterly line of said Goldenrod Avenue); thence
southeesterly in a direct line to the most westerly corner of the
last mentioned Lot 18; thence northwesterly in a direct line

to the most southerly corner:_pf Lot 17, Block 233, of the aforesaid
map of Corona del Mar; thence northeasterly along the southeasterly
line of said Lot 17, to the most easterly corner thereof; thence
northwesterly in a direct line,to . the place of beginning, excepting
therefrom any lands forming any part'of any public street or alley.
The above description is general only. A plat or map
of seid District, No. 351, adopted by Resolution No. �, of
the City Council of said City, indicating by a boundary line
the extent of the territory included in the proposed district, is
on file in the office of the City Clerk. Reference is hereby made
to said plat or map for a furthar full and complete description
of the said assessment district. The said map or plat so on file
shall govern for all details as to the extent of the said assess-
ment district.
SECTION IV.
Notice is hereby given that on ronda.y, the 5th day of
Larch, 1928, at 7;30 o'clock, F.,'!. in the Council Chamber of the
City Fall of the sbid City of Newport Beach, any and ell -persons
having any objections to the proposed work or improvement, or to
the extent of the district, or both, may apoear before the said
City Council and show cause r^hy said proposed improvement should
not be carried out in accordance mith this Resolution.
SECTION V.
. The Ne);port News, a weekly nerspaper printed, published
and circulated in the City of Newport Beach, is hereby designated
as the neTMspaper in which this Resolution of Intention shall be
published, and for the publication of all other notices, resolutions,
orders or other matter required to be published by the provisions
of the Improvement Act of 1911, hereinafter referred to, a.nd. the
City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to cause this Resolution
of Intention to be published by two insertions in said ne^-spaper
in the manner and form, required by la?°. The City Council does

not deem it advisable that th6_Qlerk mail copies of the notice of
• improvement to owners, or reputed orners, and he is not required to
mail the same.
SECTION VI.
The Street Superintendent of said City shall, after the
adoption of said Resolution of Intention, cause to be conspicuously
posted along the lines of said contemplated work or improvement,
and along all the open streets within the hereinbefore described
assessment district, notices of the passage of this Resolution of
Intention, in the manner and form required by laT.

provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California,
designated as the 'Improvement Act of 191111, approved April 7th,
1911, and Amendments thereto.
