A RESOLUTION OF THE MY COUNCIL Or THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AV7ARDINO THE C014TRACT FOR

CANAL, 14ORTH BAY FRONT AND SOUTiI RAY FRONT
4IITHIN SAID CITY.
NHEREA5, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach did in open session at a regular meeting thereof on
the 10th day of June, 1929, publicly open. examine and
declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing the following i
work* hereinafter described under Resolution of Intention
No. 608 of the City of Newport Beach.
NOW THEREFORE. the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach do resolve as follows:
SECTION 1.
That this City Council hereby finds �.
is the lowest regular, responsible bidder for the work
hereinafter described, and this Council hereby awards the
contract for said work to the said at

All other bids for sail work are hereby rejected,
and the City Clerk Is horeb;l directed to return to the re-
speotive bidders all checks accompanying said rejectel bids.

The work hereinbefore referred to is described as
That the following; streets be graded and a reinforced
cement concrete retaining wall be constructed in and along said
streets, and also the construction of a cement concrete sidewalk
c,on said streets:
(a) East Promenade of the Grand Canal from the wester-
ly prolongation of the northerly line Of South Bay Front to the
westerly prolongation of the southerly line of Park Avenue.
(b) West Promenade Of the Grand Canal from the easter-
ly prolongation of the northerly line of South Bay Front to the
easterly prolongation of the southerly line of Park Avenue and
from the easterly prolongation of the northerly line of Park
Avenue to the easterly prolongation of the southerly line of
North Bay Front.
(c) South Bay Front from the southerly prolongation of
the westerly line of Lot 5, Block 2. Section Four, Balboa Island,
as recorded in Miscellaneous lr�aps, Book 7. page 37, records of
Orange County, Califorria, to the westerly line of the Grand Canal
and from the easterly line of the Grand Canal to the southerly
prolongation of the easterly line of Lot 3, Bldak 1, Section Five,
Balboa Island, as recorded in Miscellaneous daps, Book S. page 99
Records of Orange County, California. .
(d) North Bay Front from the westerly line of the
Grand Canal to a line parallel to and thirty (30) feet westerly
of the said westerly line of said canal.
All of the foregoing work 1s more particularly described
In Resolution No. 503 as adopted by the City Council of said City
on the 29th day of April, 1929, and on file in the office of
the City Clerk of said city. For further particulars reference is
hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 603 and to the
plans, profiles, drawings and cross- sections on file in the
office of the City Engineer of said City and according to the
specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City, and all of said plans, profiles, drawings oa6ft- sections

and specifications heretofore approved by said City Connell
aIa incorporated herein and made a part hereof and reference
is hereby made thereto for a more particular description of
said work.
SECTION II.
The said City Council also determined and declared
that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and boar
Interest at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum vrill be
Issued hereunder in the manner provided by the Improvement
Bond Act of 1916. The last installment of which bonds shall
mature fourteen (14) years from the second day of duly next
succeeding ten (10) months from their date. For a particular
description of said bonds, reference, is hereby made to said
Resolution of Intention.
SECTION III,
The said City Council also determined and declared
that the oontemplated work an't improvement hereinbefore mentioned
was in the opinion of the said City Council of more than local .
or ordinary public benefit, and the expenses of said work and
improvement has been chargeable upon a district. For a par -
tioular description of said district, reference is hereby
made to said Resolution of Intention.
SECTION IV.
The Clerk of this Council is hereby directed to pub.
lish a notice of this award twice in the "Newport Wave ", a
weekly newspaper, printe;7, published and circulated In said
City and hereby designated for that purpose (there being no
daily newspaper published in sail City).
