170REAS, the Cite Council of the City of Vo -iport
Beach, did in open session at a regular adjourned meeting thereof
on the 21st day of April, 1930, publicly open, examine and declare
all sealed bids or proposals for doing the following work and
improvement, hereinafter described under Resolution of.Intention
Do. 583, of the City of Newport Beach.

SECTION 1.
That this Council hereby finds and declares that

hereby ards the contract for the said work to said t'larr�r
at the prices named in S bid to -vit:
P&r the installation of an ornamental street
lighting system on Main Street and certain
other streets and avenues including "Marbelite
(design No-S-160-B) Ornamental Lighting Posts
equipped with Ideolite Vo.81 -4 Fighting Unite,
together with wires, cables, conduit, lamps
and other suitable and necessary apalianees
for the purpose of lighting said L9ain Street
and certain other streets and avenues, and also
for the removal of certain existing cement .
concrete light posts in accordance with the
specifications and Plan- Ao.373 Sheets 1 to 2
inclusive and Standard Plan No.1047, com -)lete for
the sum of
All other bids for said work and improvement are
hereby rejected, and the City Clerk is directed to return to the
respective bidders all checks accompanying said rejected bids.

The work hereinbefore referred to is described as
The improvement of Uain Street and certain -other
streets and avenues in the City of Newport Reach by the in-
stallation of certain cement concrete Marbelite (Design No.
S- 160 -B) ornamental lighting posts, equipped rith Neolite Be.
81-4 lighting unit together with wires, cables, conduit., lamps
and other suitable and necessary appliances for the purpose
of lighting said Blain Street and certain other streets and
avenues., and also by the removal of certain existing cement
concrete light posts and the reconnecting of the existing cable.
and conduit, all as more particularly described in Resolution of
Intention No. 583, passed and adopted by the City Council of said
City on the 17th day of Parch, 1930, and on Pile in the office of
the City Clerk of said City.
i'or atrther particulars reference is hereby made to
said Resolution 'of Intention ?do. 583, and to the plans and profiles,
being Plan Be.. 373, Sheets I to 2 inclusive, and Standard Plan
No. 1047, on file in the office of the City Engineer of said
City and to specifications for the said work adopted by the City
Council on the 17th day of B2areh,. 1930, and on file in the - office
of the City Clerk of said City, and all of said plane, profiles,
and specifications heretofore approved by the City Council of
said City are incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and
reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular description
of the said work.
SECTIOB 2.
Said City Council has determined and declared that
the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore mentioned,
was in the opinion of the said City Council of more than local
or ordinary public benefit and the said City Council has made
the expenses of the said cork chargeable upon a district. For
the particular description of said assessment district, reference
is hereby made to the said Resolution of In# €ration No. 583.

Said City Council has determined and declared that
serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and bear interest
• at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum will be issued in the
manner provided by the "Improvement Bond Act of 1915+' and amdnd-
H
ments thereto, the last installment of which bonds shall mature
nine (9) years from the second (2nd) day of July next succeeding
ten (10) months from their date.
SECTION 4.
Reference is hereby made to the license agreement of the
Marbelite Corporation of America for cement concrete Idarbelito
Standards, No.. S -160 -B equipped with Neolite Ito. 81 -4 lighting
unit, dated March 17, 1933, said License Agreement being on file
in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Newport Boach.
SECTION 5.
All of the work herein ordered except for the issuance
of bonds as hereinbefore stated shall be done and carried through
in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of
the State of California,. designated as the "Improvement Act of
191111, approved April 7, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereto.
The City Clerk of this Council is hereby directed to
publish a notice of this award twice in the " Newport News" a
weekly newspaper printed, published, eireMated in said city and
hereby designated for that purpose (there being no daily newspaper
published in said City).
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach, California, this -&I day of April, 1930., by the
following vote, to -wit'
