RESOLUTION DECLARING RESULT OF SPECIAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, a special election was held on Wednesday
the 28th day of Play, 1930, pursuant to the provisions of an
act of Legislature approved May 2,,1899, Statutes 1899, page 37,
as amended by Statutes 1929, page 800, relating to the annexa-
tion of uninhabited territory, at which election there was
submitted the proposition as to whether or not certain new
uninhabited territory contiguous to the City of Newport Beach
on its northerly boundary line, in Orange County, California,
and being City owned property, be annexed to, and incorporated
in, and made a part of the City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was given by
publication in the time, form and manner as required by said
Act, as appears from the affidavit of
on file with the City Clerk of the City of Newport each; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said special municipal...
election was duly held in accordance-with-law and said notice,
on Wednesday, the 28th day of Mays 1930, and that the polls for
said election were kept open for t he time required by law, to-
Spit, from six o'clock A. M. to seven o'clock P. M. of said day,
and that said special election was held and conducted, and the
votes thereof received and canvassed and the result thereof
determined and declared in time, form and manner required by law;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beac]
did on Monday, the 2nd day of June, 1930, at the hour of 7 :30
o'clock A. M., the same being the time required for its regular

meeting next after the said returns were filed with the City
Clerk of the City of Newport Beach, meet and proceed to open
and canvass said returns of said special election as required
by law, whereupon the result of said canvass having been found
to be as hereinafter stated.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: That the new uninhabited
territory sought to be annexed to, incorporated in and made a
part of the City of Newport Beach is described as follows:
All that certain real property situated in the County
of Orange, State of California, and more particularly described
as follows, to -wit:
PARCEL I
Beginning at a point in the present City Boundary
line of Newport Beach, which point is the northeast corner
of Lot RH° Tract 919, as recorded in Miscellaneous Maps,
Book 29, pages 31 to 34 inclusive, records of Orange
County, California, - '`which point is also the southwest corn-
er of the 80 foot strip of the State Highway right of way
as deeded by Deed recorded in Deed Book 506, page 334,
Records of said County, running thence along the State
Highway right of way as deeded by deed recorded in Deed
Book 338, page 314, Official Records of said County, south-
easterly on the arc of a curve concave to the northeast
having a radius of 906.33 feet (a radial line at the point
of beginning bearing north 470 331 2511 East) a distance of
504.85 feet; thence continuing along the last mentioned
southerly line of said State Highway right of way , tangent
south 740 211 3011 East 1252.22 feet; thence continuing
along the last mentioned right of way line along a curve
concave to the north having a radius of 1550 feet, a dis-
tance of 379.64 feet; thence continuing along the last men-
tioned right of way line tangent south 88D 231, 3011 east, a
distance of 201.35 feet to a point in the southeasterly
line of the parcel of land as deeded to the City of Newport
Beach by deed recorded in Deed Book 249, page 423, records
of said County;xthence south 290 001 west along the last
mentioned southeasterly line and the southwesterly pro-
longation thereof a distance of 970.81 feet to an inter-
section with the present City boundary line; thence north
610 001 west along the present City boundary line a distance
of 2340.98 feet to an angle point in the present City
boundary line; thence continuing along the present City
boundary line north 390 441 5011 East, a distance of 488.29
feet to the point of beginning.

distance of 172.81 feet from Station 150 in the U. S.
Government Bulkhead line as laid out and shown upon a
map of Newport Beach showing Harbor lines, approved by
the War Department January 18, 1917, and on file in the
office of the District Engineer in Los Angeles, California;
thence north 380 231 2011 East a distance of 255.16 feet to
a point in the U. g. Gov't Bulkhead line between Station
100 and Station 101, as shown upon said map of Newport Beach
showing Harbor lines; which point is the southwesterly corn-
er of the parcel of land as deeded to the City of Newport
Beach by deed recorded in Deed Book 249, page 424, Records
of Orange County, California; thence north 39D 481 west
along the southwesterly line of said parcel of land a distan
of 351.34 feet; thence north 23D 571 3011 east along the
northwesterly line of said parcel of land a distance of
317.57 feet; thence south 710 541 east along the northerly
line of said parcel of land a distance of 290.24 feet;
thence continuing along the northerly line of said parcel
of land south 850 431. east a distance of 1378.16 feet to
the northeast .corner of said parcel of land; thence south
along the east line and the southerly prolongation thereof
of the said parcel of land a distance of 567.01 feet to an
intersection with the present City boundary line; thence
west along the present City boundary line a distance of
1712.71 feet to the point of beginning. All in Section
35, Township 6 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base
and Meridian, Orange County, California.
That pursuant to law and said Act as aforesaid, the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach did establish for the
purposes of said Municipal Election heretofore referred to, the
five (5) election precincts last established and designated
in said County by the Board of Supervisors of Orange Countys
California, for the holding of general elections, and which said
County precincts so established were and are designated as
Newport Beach precincts Nos. 1, 22 32 4 and 5 respectively,
and said precincts so established were the election precincts
for said special election and embraced the same territory
as said County precincts.
That the whole number of votes cast at said
election on said proposition in the City of Newport Beach, was
.220 votes.

Annexation" was -- votes.
And WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the
returns of said election held in the City of Newport Beach
on the proposition heretofore stated, that the majority of
all the votes cast in said City, on the question of said annexa-
tion, are in favor of annexation or for said annexation.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED: That the annexation of said
described new uninhabited territory shall be and the same is
hereby approved, and said annexation of said new uninhabited
territory shall be deemed and shall be complete from and after
the date of the filing of the document hereinafter mentioned,
with the Secretary of State and with the Clerk of the Board of
Supervisors of Orange County, California, and said new uninhabut
territory shall be hereafter to all intents and purposes, a part
of the City of Newport Beach.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of this Board
immediately cause a report of the canvass of said returns to
be made and entered upon the minutes of this Board, showing the
whole number of votes cast, and the number of votes cast in favor
of annexation and the number of votes cast against annexation,
and that said clerk of this Board shall make and certify under
the seal of the City of Newport Beach, and transmit to the
Pecretary of State and to the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Orange, State of Califccrnia, a copy of said report so entered
upon the minutes of this Board, together with a statement showing
the date of said election and the time and result of said canvass

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That from and after the
date of the filing of said document in the office of the
Secretary of State, and the Board of Supervisors of Orange
County, California, that the annexation of such territory so
proposed to be annexed and heretofore described, shall be deemed
and shall be complete and from thence forth said annexed territor
shall be a part of the City of Newport Beach for all intents and
purposes, except only that no part of such annexed territory
shall ever be taxed to pay any portion of any indebtedness or
liability of the City of Newport Beach contracted prior to or
existing at the time of such annexation.
