A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COU17CIL OF THE
CITE' OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING
• THEIR INTE_'TIOZ TO ORDER THE CLOSI_'G UP AND
ABANDONMENT OF PORTIONS OF A CERTAIN STREET
KYOWN AS OCEAN AVENUE IN THE CITY OF NEFdPORT
BEACH DECLARING .IT TO BE FOR THE PUBLIC IWTER-

The City Council of the City of Newport Beach, pursuant
to provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California,
known as "Street Opening Act of 18897, approved March 6, 1889, and
amendments thereto, do resolve and declare as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience
requires the closing up and abandonment of portions of that certan
str:et as hereinafter described in the City of Newport Beach and
it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
to order the following portions of Ocean Avenue in,sad City to be
closed up and abandoned, to -wit:
All-of the portions of Ocean Avenue as said Ocean Avenue is
laid out and shown on a map of Seashore Colony Tract as recorded in
Book 7, Page 25 of Miscellaneous Baps, records of Orange County,
California, described as follows, to -wit:
(a) Beginning at the mot$ southerly corner of Block "G ",
of said Seashore Colony Tract; running thence southwesterly along
the southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly line of Colton
Street having a width of thirty (30) feet, a distance of 15 feet;
thence northwesterly along a. line parallel to the southwesterly line
of said Block "G" to an intersection with the southwesterly prolonga-
• tion of the southeasterly line of Orange Street having a width of
50 feet; thence northeasterly along the last mentioned southwesterly
prolongation a distance of 15 feet to the most westerly corner of said
Block "G"; thence southeasterly along the southwesterly line of said
Block "G° to the point of beginning,

(b) Beginning at the mast southerly corner of LotO 2, Block
• "H" of said Seashore Colony Tract; running thence southwesterly
along the southwesterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of
said Lot :2, a distance of 15 feet; thence northwesterly along a.

line parallel, to the southwesterly line of said Block "H" to the point
of intersection with the southwesterly prolongation of the south-
easterly line of Fern Street having z. width of 30 feet; thence
northeasterly along the last mentioned southwesterly prolongation �s riee�
to the most westerly corner of said Block "H"; thence southeasterly
along the southwesterly Line of said Block "H" to the point of
beginning.
(o) Beginnindat the most southerly corner of Block "I"
in said Seashore Colony Tract; running thence southwesterly along
the southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly line of Fern
Street having a width of 30 feet, a distance of 15 feet; thence
northwesterly along ,a,- line parallel to the southwesterly line of sad
Block "I" to an intersection with the southwesterly prolongation of
the southeasterly line of Grant Street having a width of 30 feet;
thence northeasterly along the last mentioned southwesterly prolongation
a distance of 15 feet to the most westerly corner of said Block

to the point of beginning.
(d) Beginning at the most southerly corner of Block "J"
in said Seasnore Colony Tract;. running thence southwesterly along
the southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly line of Grant
Street having s; width of 30 feet, a distance of 15 feet; thence
northwesterly along .a= line parallel to the southwesterly line of said
• Block "J" to an intersection with the southwesterly prolongation of
the southeasterly line of Highland Street having a width of 30 feet;
thence northeasterly along the last mentioned southwesterly prolongation
a distance of 15 feet to the most westerly corner of said Block "J";
thence southwesterly along the southwesterly line of said Block "J"
to the point of beginning.

in said Seashore Colony Tract; running thence southwesterly along
the southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly line of Highland
Street having a width of 30 feet, a distance of 15 feet; thence
northwesterly along a. line parallel to the southwesterly line of
said Block "K" to an intersection with the southwesterly prolongation
of the southeasterly line of Nordinia Street having a width of 30 feet;
thence northeasterly along the last mentioned southwesterly prolong-
ation, a distance of 15 feet to the most resterly corner of said

Block "K", to the point of beginning.

(f). Beginning at the most southerly corner of /Block "L"
of said Seashae Colony Tract; running thence southwesterly along

a distance of 15 feet; thence northwesterly along a line parallel
to the southwesterly line of said Block "L", to an intersection with
the southwesterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of Sonora
Street having a width of 30 feet; thence northeasterly alon the

(g) Beginning at the most southerly corner of Block "H"
of said Seashore Colony Tract; running thence southwesterly along
the southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly line of Sonora
Street having a width of 30 feet, a distance df 15 feet; thence
northwesterly along a line parallel to the southwesterly line of said
Block I'M" to an intersection with the southwesterly prolongation of
the southeasterly line of Olive Street having a width of thirty (30)
feet; thence northeasterly along the last mentioned southwesterly

and known as "An Actto Provide for Laying Out,Opening, Extending,
Vlidening, Straightening or Closing up in Whole or in Part of any

having a width of 30 feet, a, distance of 15 feet; thence north-
westerly along a line parallel to the southwesterly line of said
Block "N" to an intersection with the southwesterly prolongation
of the northwesterly line of Lot 3 of said Block "N "; thence
northeasterly along the last mentioned southwesterly prolongation
a distance of 15 feet to the most westerly corner of last mentioned .

All of which is -more clearly shown on a certain Map
approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach for said abandonment by Resolution No. 21 , on the 21

Section 2. That thesaid City Council of the City of Ne vort
Beach does further declare that the lots, lands or premises affected
by the closing up and abandonment of the hereinbefore described
street and benefited by said improveipemt are those certain parcels
ofineal property described as f ollows, to -wtt:
Lots One (1), Two (2), Three (3), Four (4), Five
(5), Six (6), Block "G "; Lots Two (2), Three (3) Four
Five (5 ) , Six (6), Block "H"; Lots One (1), Two �2), Three
(3), Four (4), Five (5), Six (6), Block "I ", Lots One (1)
Two (2), Three (3) Four (4), Five (5), Six (6), Block "J "-
Lots One (1), Two �2), Three (3), Four (4), Five (5) Six �6)
"K"; Three (3), Four Five (5) N
Block Lots (4), Six ,
Block "L"• Lots One (1), Two (2), Three (3), Four (4), Five
(5), Six t6), Block "bl" and Lots One (1), Two (2), Three (3),
Block "N ", all being in Seashore Colony Tract as recorded
in Book 7, Page 25 of Idiscellaneous Maps, records of Orange
County, California.

Section 3. That the proceddings for the closng up of the
aforesaid street shall be had and taken under and in accordance

and known as "An Actto Provide for Laying Out,Opening, Extending,
Vlidening, Straightening or Closing up in Whole or in Part of any

Street, Square, Lane, Alley, Court or Placewithin Municipalities,
to Condemn and Acquire any and all lend and Property Necessarycb
Convenient for that Purpose ", approved March 6, 1589, and amendments
thereto.
Section 4. The Street Superintendent shall cause to be
conspicuously _posted cling the line of said oontemplated work
and improvement and at not more then 300 feet in distance apart,
but not less than three in all, notices of the passage of-this
Resolution, in the fom and manner as required by law; and he shall
also cause a notice similar in substance, for a period of four (4)
successive weeks, to be published in the Neumort News, a weekly
newspaper, published, and circulated and of general circulation in
the City of Nevmort Beach, California., and hereby designated for
that purpose by the City Council,.containing a statement of the fact
of the passage of this resolution of intention, the date thereof,
and briefly describes the work or improvement proposed andzeferring
to this Resolution for further particulars.
Section 5. That any person interested, objecting to said
work or inprovemexvt, or to the extent of the district or lands to be
affected or benefited by said work end.iraprovement and to be assessed
to pay the costs and expenses thereof, may make written objections
to the same, within ten (10) days after the expiration of the time of
the publication of said notices,which objections shall be delivered
to the Clerk of the City Council of the City of Ner ,)ort Beach.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly intmoduced, passed and adopted by the City Council
• of the City of Nerroort BeaC_L, at a regular adjourned meeting
