RESOLUTION NO. 72 3
RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT.
WHERFAS, the City 4btincil of the City of Newport
Beach on the 23rd day of November, 1931, passed its Resolution
of Intention No. 722, to order the hereinafter improvement to
be made and public work to be done in the City of Newport
Beach; and
EEREAS, after the passage anda3option of Resolution
of Intention Ido. 722, the Street Superintendent of the City
Of Newport Beach caused to be conspicuously posted along the
line of the contemplated work and improvement at not more than
three hundred (300) feet in distance apart, and 48 in all,
notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention, headed
"NOTICE OF PUBLIC TIORK ". in the manner, form and substance as
required by law, and said street superintendent also caused a
notice similar in substance to be published for a period of
four (4) weeks, in NE17PORT REWS, a meekly newspaper,- printed,
published and circulated in the City of Newport Beach, and
named by said City Council in said Resolution of Intention as
the paper in which said notice should appear, all as appears
from the affidavit cf S. A. Meyers of the printers and publish-
er of said weekly newspaper, and which affidavit was filed in
the office of the Clerk of the City of Newport Beach on the
31st day of December, 1931, and is now on file therein; and
WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City of
Newport Beach commenced the posting of the .notice hereinbefore
referred to on the 1st day of December, 1931, and fully
completed the posting thereof on the let day of December, 1931,

as appears from the affidavit of John A. Siegel, Assistant
Street Superintendent of the City of Newport Beach, and more
than ten (10) days having expired after the expiration of the
time of the publication of said notice within which protests or
Objections to the proposed work or improvement might be made by
any person interested objecting to said work or improvement, or
to the extent of the district or lands to be afftoted or bene-
fitted by said work or improvement and to be assessed to pay the
cost and expenses thereof; and
M EREAS, at the next meeting of the City Council after
the expiration of said ten days after the expiration of the time
of the publication of said notice, no objection to said mark
or improvement having been made or on.file, why said proposed
improvement should not be carried out in accordance with said
Resolution of Intention, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach having now acquired jurisdiction to order the said Improve-
ment;
IT IS BEREBY RESOLVED AND ORDERED: That the public
interest and convenience requires the work hereinafter described
and the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby orders
the follovd ng work to be done and improvement made in the City of
Newport Beach as follows:
That the follovdng portion of Ocean Avenue in the City
of Newport Beach as hereinafter describdd'be closed up and
abandoned, to -wit:
All of the portions of Ocean Avenue as said Ocean
Avenue is laid out and shown on a map of Seashore Colony
Tract as recorded in Book 7, Page 25 of Uiscellaneous
• Uaps, records of Oran a County, California, described
as follows, to�wit:
(a) Beginning at the most southerly corner of Black "GO,
gf said Seashore Colony Tract; running thence south-
westerly along the southwesterly prolongation of the north-
westerly line of Colton Street having a width of thirty
(30) feet, a distance of 15 feet; thence northwesterly
along a line parallel to the southwesterly line of said
Block "G° to an intersection with the southwesterly pro-
longation of the southeasterly lineof Orange Street having

a width of 50 feet; thence northeasterly along the last
mentioned southwesterly prolongation a distance
• of 15 test to the most westerly corner of said Block
"G"; thence southeasterly along the southwesterly
line of said Block "G" to the point of beginning.
(b) Beginning at the most southerly corner of
Lot 2; Block "H" of said Seashore Colony Tract; running
thence southwesterly along the southwesterly prolongation
of the southeasterly line of said Lot 2, a distance of
15 feet; thence northwesterly along a line parallel to
the southwesterly line of said Block "H" to the point of
intersection with the southwesterly prolongation of the
southeasterly line of Fern Street having a width of 30
feet; thence northeasterly auto w the last mentioned

of said Block "U "; thence southeasterly along the south -
weste]cly line of said Block "H" to the point of beginning.
(o) Beginning at the most southerly corner of Block
"I" in said Seashore Colony Tract; running thence south-
westerly along the southwesterly prolongation of the north-
westerly line of Fern Street having a width of 30 feet,
a distance of 15 feet; thence northwesterly along a line
parallel to the southwesterly line of said Block I" to an
intersection with the southeesterly prolongation of the
southeasterly line of Grant Street having a width of 30
feet; thence northeasterly along the last mentioned south-
westerly prolongation a distance of 15 feet to the most
westerly corner of said Block "I ";, thence southeasterly
along the southwesterly line of said Block "I" to the
point of beginning.
(d) Beginning at the most southerly corner of Block
"J" in said Seashore Colony Tract; running thence
southwesterly along the southwesterly prolongation of the
northwesterly line of Grant Street having a width of 30
feet; a distance of 15 feet; thence northwesterly
along a line parallel to the southwesterly line of srid
Block "J" to an intersection with the southwesterly
prolongation of the southeasterly line of Highland Street
having a width of 30 feet; thence northeasterly along
the last mentioned southwesterly prolongation a distance
of 15 feet to the most westerly corner of said Block "J ";
thence southeasterly along the southwesterly line of said

Block "K" to an intersection with the southwesterly pro-
longation of the southeasterly line of Nordinia Street
having a width of 30 Feet; thence northeasterly along.

"I.", to an intersection with the southwesterly pro -

having a width of 30 feet; thence'northeasterly along
the last mentioned southwesterly prolongation, a distanoe
of 15 feet to the moat westerly corner of said Block

Block "HI1 to an intersection with the southwesterly
prolongation of the southeasterly line of Olive Street
having a width of thirty (30) feet; thence northeasterly
along the last mentioned, southwesterly prolongation a
distance of 15 feet to the most westerly corner of said

(h) Beginning at the most southerly corner of Block
'IN" .of said Seashore Colony Tract, running thence south -
westerly along the southwesterly prolongation of the
northwesterly line of Olive Street having a width of 30
feet a distance of 35 feet; thence northwesterly along
a lineparallel to the southwesterly line of said Block
'IN" to as intersection trith the southwesterly prolongation
of the morthwesterly line of Lot 3 of siad Blook "'IV
thence northeasterly along the last mentioned south-
westerly prolongation a distance of 15 feet to the most

All of which is more clearly shown vu d certain map
approved tud adopted by the City Council of the City of Seaport
Beach for said abandonment by.Resolution No. 721, on the 23rd
day of November, 1931.
The public work ordered and the improvement to be
made is for the purpose of closing up and abandoning a portion
of Ocean Avenue as he.reinbefore described.,. and for that reason
no district is chargeable therewith.

Pox further particulars reference is hereby made to
said Resolution of Intention No. 722b which is dated the 23rd
day of November 1931, and on file with the Clerk of the City
of Newport Beach.
The Clerk of the City of Newport Beach is herewith
instructed to record a copy of this Resolution Ordering Improve-
ment in the.Office of the County Recorder of the County of Orange,
State Of California.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
Ordering Tinprovement No. Z;7-3 was duly Introduced and
regularly passed and adopted by theOlty Council of theCity of
Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day
of January, 1932., by the following vote, to -vit:-
