RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach a certain agreement dated the c0_
day of 1933, which said agreementisknown as the
Earthquake Relief Agreement No. 6, and wherein the State of
California is referred to as the "State" and the City of Newport
Beach is referred to as #,Newport Beach"; and
WHEREAS, said agreement provides that the State shall
pay to Newport Beach the sum of $2000.00, to be used by the City
of Newport Beach for the purpose of repairing, reconstructing,
resurfacing and clearing the public highways of the City of
Newport Beach, which were damaged by the Earthquake of March,
1933; and
WHEREAS, said agreement provides that said money
so to be paid to the City of Newport Beach shall only be used
for the purpose specified in said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That said agreement
be, and the same is hereby approved as written,by the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach, and the Mayor and City
Clerk of said city are hereby authorized and directed to sign
the same in quadruplicate on behalf of said city, and the Clerk
is directed to forthwith return to Earl Lee Kelly, Director of
Public Works, Department of Public Works, Division of Highways,
paid - agreements signed in triplicate and file the fourth copy
thereof in his office, and thereupon said agreement shall become
a valid agreement as between said parties.
I hereby certify that the foregoing.Resolution
was duly and regular introduced and passed by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach, at a regular meeting thereof held
