RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, REJECTING BIDS AND
DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY TO RE.
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
REINFORCED CONCRETE BULKHEAD AND OTHER WORK
IN BALBOA ISLAND IN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH,
CALIFORNIA, AS PER RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 918.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
California, having heretofore advertised for bids for the construc-
tion of a reinforced concrete bulkhead and other work and improve-
ment in Balboa Island, all as more particularly - described in
Resolution of Intention,. passed and adopted by the City Cauricil
of said City on the 12th day of November, 1935, and on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said City, and on the date that
said bids were to be received, to -wit, September 14, 1936, three
(3) bids were submitted by the following: Case Construction Co.;
Griffith Company; and L. F. Dow Company;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, as follows:
(1) That all bids received September 140 1936 for
the above mentioned improvement, be and each of the same are
hereby rejected for the public good.
(2) That the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed
to re- advertise forbids by posting conspicuously for five (5)
days on or near the Council Chamber Door of the said City Council
• in the manner and form required by law, a notice inviting sealed
proposals or bids for doing the work ordered, as per Resolution
No. 928, passed and adopted by the said City Council on the
• 2nd day of December, 19350 and the said City Clerk is hereby
directed to cause said notice to be published twice in the
"NEWPORT NEWS," a weekly newspaper published and circulated
in said City and hereby designated for that purpose by the
City Council, inviting such proposals or bids for doing the
said work and referring to the specifications on file; the said
bids to be received by the said City Clerk up to the hour of
seven thirty (7 :30) o'clock P.M. of October 5, 1936,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach, California, at a regular adjourned meeting
thereof held on the 23rd day of September, 1936, by the follow-
ing vote, to- wit:

I HEREBY C E R T I F Y that the above and foregoing
Resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the
