RESOLUTION NO. a-
WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain agreement
dated the 19th day of February, 1940, between the City of
Newport Beach therein referred to as the "City" and Smith
Brothers Boat Works, a co— partnership, therein referred to as
"Contractor "; and
WHEREAS, said agreement provides that the City has
awarded to the Contractor the contract for the furnishing of
all required labor, materials, equipment and transportation
for the construction of a dredge barge for the City, for the
agreed price of $1240.00; and
WHEREAS, said agreement specifically sets forth the
terms, conditions and price for the doing of said work; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Newport Beach
deems that it is for the best interests of saldCity that said
contract be executed and that the work therein specified be done by
the Contractor upon the terms and conditions therein specified.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and
City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
directed, authorized and instructed to execute said agreement in
the name of and on behalf of the City of Newport Beach, and that a
duly executed copy thereof be delivered by the City Clerk to the
Contractor in said agreement named.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing resolution
was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of th
City of Newport Beach at an adjourned regular meeting thereof held
on the 19th day of February, 1940, by the following lvote, to —wit:
