RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, by virtue of Traffic Ordinance No. -% �� and
amendments thereto, of the city of Newport Beach, the City Council
of the city of Newport Beach is authorized to prohibit and/or
limit parking of automobiles and other vehicles on certain streets
and alleys in the city of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, under said Ordinance No. , the City Coun-
cil of the city of Newport Beach is authorized to prohibit and/or
limit parking of automobiles and other vehicles on said streets
and alleys by Resolution duly passed by said City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That parking of automobiles
and other vehicles on the streets and alleys of said City of New-
port Beach hereinafter named shall be limited and /or prohibited,
as shown hereafter, and the Chief of Police of the city of Newport
Beach is authorized, directed and instructed to do all necessary
painting of curbs of said streets and alleys in the colors herein-
after specified and to post all necessary and appropriate signs
in and along said streets and alleys, which signs shall clearly
indicate the fact that parking is either limited or prohibited
along the streets and alleys hereinafter mentioned.
CENTRAL AVENUE
Parking of automobiles and other vehicles shall be limited
to 20 minutes along the Northeasterly and Southeasterly sides of
Central Avenue between Palm Street and "A" Street, and the curbs
of said streets shall be painted green to indicate such limited
parking.
MAIN STREET
Parking of automobiles and other vehicles is prohibited
along the northwesterly and southeasterly sides of Main Street,
northeasterly of the first alley southwesterly of Central Avenue,
and the curbs of said street shall be painted red to indicate said

Parking of automobiles and other vehicles shall be limited
to 20 minutes on the southeasterly side of Main Street between
Bay Avenue and the first alley southwesterly thereof, and the
curbs of said street shall be painted green to indicate such
limited parking.
MAIN STREET
No vehicular traffic or parking shall be permitted
southwesterly of the first alley southwesterly of Central
Avenue, and the curbs shall be painted red to indicate such
prohibited parking, except a loading zone shall be and is
hereby established in front of the hotel on said street for
the loading and unloading of hotel guests, the curbs of said
loading zone shall be painted yellow to indicate said loading
zone.
WASHINGTON STREET
Parking of automobiles and other vehicles shall be limited
to 20 minutes along the northwesterly and southeasterly sides of
Washington Street between Surf Avenue and Central Avenue, and
the curbs of said street shall be painted green to indicate said
limited parking.
WASHINGTON STREET
Parking of automobiles and other vehicles shall be
prohibited at the southwesterly end of Washington Street and
on the northwesterly and southeasterly curbs of Washington
Street for a distance of thirty (30) feet northeasterly of the
southwesterly end of Washington Street, and the curbs of said
street shall be painted red to indicate such prohibited parking.
WASHINGTON STREET
Parking of automobiles and other vehicles shall be pro-
hibited along the northwesterly and southeasterly sides of
Washington Street, northeasterly of Central Avenue, and the curbs
of said street shall be painted red to indicate such prohibited
parking, except that for a distance of 85 feet northeasterly of

the northeasterly line of Bay Avenue, parking shall be permitted
for 20 minutes only, and said portion of said curb shall be
painted green to indicate such limited parking.
BAY AVENUE
Parking of automobiles and other vehicles shall be
limited to 20 minutes along the northeasterly and southeasterly
sides of Bay Avenue between Palm Street and Washington Street
and the curbs of said street painted green to indicate such
limited parking.
BAY AVENUE
Parking of automobiles and other vehicles shall be
prohibited on the northeasterly and southwesterly sides of Bay
Avenue between Washington Street and Main Street, and the curbs
of said street painted red to indicate such prohibited parking,
except that the northeasterly and southwesterly sides of said
street for a distance of 110 feet northwesterly of Main Street
shall be limited to 20 minute parking and the curbs thereof shall
be painted green to indicate such limited parking.
BAY AVENUE
Parking of automobiles and other vehicles shall be
prohibited on the southwesterly side of Bay Avenue between
Plain Street and "A" Street, and the curbs thereof shall be
painted red to indicate such prohibited parking, except that
a loading and unloading zone shall be and is hereby established
for a distance of 60 feet southeasterly of the southeasterly
line of Main Street, and the curbs of such loading zone shall
be painted yellow to indicate such loading zone.
BAY AVENUE
Parking of automobiles and other vehicles on the north-
erly side of Bay Avenue between Main Street and "A" Street shat
be prohibited and the curbs of said street shall be painted red
to indicate such prohibited parking.

The Chief of Police of the city of Newport Beach is
hereby authorized and instructed to erect and construct, or
cause to be erected and constructed, all necessary signs showing
the parking restrictions on the streets hereinbefore mentioned
and described.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
duly and regularly passed by the City Council of the city of
Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the let day
of July, 1940, by the following vote, to —wit:
