1 RESOLUTION NO.

3 WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the
4 City Council of the City of Newport Beach, a certain agreement
5 dated July 7th, 1941, between Wm. A. Maxwell and W. H. Hitchman,
6 doing business under the name and style of Newport-Balboa :Press,
7 therein referred to as the parties of the first part, and the City
8 of Newport Beach, a municipal corporation, therein referred to as
9 the party of the second part; and
10 WHEREAS, said agreement provides that the parties of the
11 first part were awarded the contract by the party of the second
12 part for the publication and printing of all legal notices and
13 other matters for the city of Newport Beach, for the fiscal year
14 ending June 30, 1942, at the price in said agreement set forth;
15 and
16 WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Newport Beach
17 deems that it is for the best interests of said city that said
I8 agreement be entered into with the parties of the first part,
I9 their price being the lowest bid for said printing and publications.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and
21 City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
22 directed, authorized and instructed to execute said agreement in
23 the name of the city of Newport Beach, and the City Clerk shall
24 deliver a duly executed copy thereof to the parties of the first
25 part therein named.
26 I hereby certify that the above and foregoing
27 resolution was duly passed and adopted by the city Council of the
28 City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th
29 day of July, 1941, by the following vote, t
