WHLROAS, under Chapter 1470, Statutes of 1945, there
has been appropriated a sum of money out of the State Beach Fund
to the Division of Beaches and Parks, Department of Natural
Resources, for the acquisition for state park purposes of land
in Orange County, California, known as the "Corona del Mar proposed
State Park Site ", consisting of 3,600 feet, more or less, of
beach and bay frontage, or so much thereof as can be purchased at
a reasonable price, to be determined by appraisal and negotiations
or by condemnation proceedings, said land situate, lying and being
within the City limits of the City of Newport Beach and between
the ordinary high water mark of the Pacific Ocean and certain
designated streets; and
TMREAS, it is further provided in said statutes of
1945, Chapter 1470 aforesaid, that the appropriation is granted
upon the condition that all purchases made by the State be matched
by donation by the City of Newport Beach of properties of equal
value, said properties to be added to the properties acquired by
the State for the creation of the Corona Pel 11ar Park; and
'WHEREAS, by Sections 5150 and 5151 of the Public Resourcei
Code, the City of Newport Beach may assist the State of California
in acquiring any park, playground, recreational center or beach to
be used for recreational purposes, and by the same sections of
the said Public Resources Code, it is provided that such assistance
may take the form of a donation, conveyance, or grant to the
State of any real property owned by the City of Newport Beach; and
IMEREAS, the State of California has agreed, through its
Division of Beaches and Parks, to purchase certain lands in the
City of Newport Beach on the condition that all purchases by the
State be matched by a donation by the City of Newport Beach of
properties of equal value;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that in consideration of

the premises and other valuable considerations, all of which the

City Council of the City of Newport Beach deems just, fair, and

adequate, and in accordance with the laws of the State of Califor-

nia, the City of Newport Beach does hereby make a donation and
5
grant to the State of California , for park purposes, and on a
6
matching basis, of all that certain real property situate in the
7
City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California, and
8
more particularly described as follows, to -wit:

PARCEL 1: A parcel of land being a portion of Lot B, as shorn
10
upon a map of Corona Del Lar recorded in Book 3, at
pages 41 and 42, Miscellaneous Laps, Records of Orange County,
11
California, and more particularly described as follows, to -wit:

BEGINNING at the intersection of the Northeasterly line of said
Lot B, and the Southwesterly prolongation of the Northwesterly line
13
of Iris Avenue, formerly 35th Avenue, as shown upon said map of
Corona Del liar; thence..South 390 381 Uest and along said prolonga-

tion a distance of 170 feet to a point; thence south 150 001 East,
306 feet more or'less to its intersection with the line of mean
15
high tide as surveyed by the City of Newport Beach, November 28,
1945; thence along said mean birth tide line, through the following
16
courses and distances, North 66$ 451 East, 208,00 feet; thence nort
730 551 East, 105 feet; thence North 800 151 East, 93.00 feet;

thence North 890 55' East, 100.00 feet; thence North 840 001 East,
84.45 feet more or less to an intersection of said mean high tide
18
line with the Southwesterly prolongation of the Northwesterly line
of Larkspur Avenue, formerly 37th Avenue, as shown upon said map
19
of Corona Del Lar; thence North 390 381 East along said prolonga-
tion a distance of 75.30 feet more or less, to its intersection
20
with.the Northeasterly line of said Lot B; thence North 680 221
,s,est along said Northeasterly line, 630.88 feet, more or less, to
21
the point of beginning.

PARCEL 2: A parcel of land, being all of Lots 1 to 16, inclusive,
of Block A -37, as shown upon a map of Corona Del I,:ar,

recorded in Book 3 at pages 41 and 42, iiiscellaneousriaps, Records
of Orange County, California.

EXCEPTING THEREFROM alleys, as shown upon said trap of Corona Del k7a

PARCEL 3: A parcel of land being all of Lot D, as shown upon a

map of Tract No. 673, recorded in Book 20, pages 17 and
18,11iscellaneous Daps, Records of Orange County, California, and

more particularly described as follows:

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Hayor and City Clerk

of the City of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby directed,
13
instructed, and authorized to execute said deed in the name of and
14
on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
