RESOLUTION NO,'�Pi Q
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is the owner of Parcel 1,
the Southeasterly 30 feet of Lots Three and Pour in Block One Hundred.
Thirty -three of Labe Tract,'Newport Beach, as shown on a Map recorded in
Book 4, page 13 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California,
and Parcel 2, Lot Sixteen in Block Forty -four of River Section, Newport Beach,
as shown on a Map recorded in Book 4, Page 25 of Miscellaneous Maps, records
of Orange County, California; and
SAS, BERKARDINB WHALEN REED, a married woman, is the owner of
the Northwesterly 65 feet of Lots One and Two in Block One Hundred Thirty -three
of Lake Tract, Newport Beach, as shown on a Map recorded in Book 4, page 13 of
Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California; and
13 WHEREAS, the City is in urgent need of the property owned by
14 BERNARDINE WHALEN REED, heretofore described, for the widening of Coast Boule-
16 vard in said City; and
16 WHEREAS, the properties above mentioned are of approximately
17 equal, market value; and
18 WHEREAS, the City has agreed to exchange the property owned by
19 it for the property owned by said BERNARDINE WHALEN HEED; and
20 WHEREAS, in the judgement of the City Council of the City of
21 Newport Beach, the consideration for said exchange is fair, just, and adequate,
22 as the properties are of approximately equal market valve; and
23 WEEMS, it is for the best interests and benefit of the City of
24 Newport Beach and the inhabitants thereof that said exchange be made;

26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Newport Beach
26 asks, execute, and deliver to BERNARDINE WHALEN REED, a married woman, a deed
27 o the properties heretofore described as being owned by it, in exchange for a
28 good and sufficient deed to the properties owned by said BERNARDINE WHALEN REED,
29 married women;
30 AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all escrow'charges and charges
31 f title be at the expense of said City, and both properties herein mentioned
32 described shall be conveyed to the parties hereto, free and clear of all

encumbrances of every nature, description or kind,
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk of the
City of Newport Beach be authorised, directed and instructed to sign and
execute, on behalf of the City of Newport Beach and in the name of said City,
a corporation grant deed, granting to the said BERNARDINE.WHALEN REID, a
married woman, the properties owned by said City and heretofore described.
and that said deed be delivered to the said BERNARDINE WELUEN BEER, a married
woman, when said named party has made, executed. and delivered a good and
sufficient deed to the properties owned by her, to the City of Newport Beach,
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing Resolution was duly

regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
