• The Clerk advised that this was the time to canvass the vote of the special election held for the
purpose of the annexation of certain inhabited territory, designated as 'Balboa Bayshores" to the
City of Newport Beach. The vote was canvassed the result showing 21 votes in favor of
annexation and 7 votes against annexation and one cancelled ballot.
On the strength of the favorable vote for annexation Councilman Allen moved the adoption of a
resolution, being a resolution declaring the result of the Special Election, describing the territory
to be annexed and providing, for the record of said vote to be entered upon the minutes of the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach.
The motion for adoption of the resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Robertson, the
resolution designated Resolution No. 3491 and was passed by the following
roll call vote, to wit:
AYES; COUNCILMEN: Allen, Siler, Isbell, Robertson, Reed
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: None
