WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach a certain agreement of ex-
change, dated the 10th day of September, 1947, wherein the City of
Newport Beach has agreed to exchange Lots 17 and 18 in Block 317 of
'River Section, Newport Beach", California, for Lot 14 and the Sout
westerly rectangular 1/2 of Lot 13 in Block 139 of Canal Section,
Newport Beach, California; and
WHEREAS, the property belonging to the City of Newport Beach
is valued in such exchange at $3200.00 and the property for which
they intend to exchange is valued at $2860.00; and
WHEREAS, Thomas A. Sanson and Ray D. Sanson, husband and wife
are the owners of the property which said City intends to exchange
for, and said owners have agreed to pay to said City the difference
between the values in the sun of $340.00; and vac. "o
WHEREAS, the City needs said property owned by Thomas A.
Sanson and Ray D. Sanson,husband and wife, for the widening of
Coast Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the considerations
mentioned in said exchange are fair, just and adequate, and that
it is for the best interests of said City and the inhabitants
thereof that said exchange be made;
N017 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the 13ayor and City Clerk
of the City of Nei+port Beach be authorized, directed and instructe
to sign said exchange agreement dated the said 10th day of
September, 1947, wherein the City of New1p ort Beach is therein re-
ferred to as First Party, and Thomas A. Sanson and Ray D. Sanson,
husband and wife, are therein designated Second Party; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that when said exchange agreement
has been signed that the same be deposited by the City Clerk as
escrow instructions for the exchange of the properties herein
described, with the Orange County Title Company of Santa Ana,
