RESOLUTION 3826
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, FIXING THE RATE PER CENTUM AND
LEVYING A TAX UPON ALL OF THE TAXABLE PROPERTY
WITHIN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH WHICH IS TAXABLE
THEREIN FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES.
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does
resolve and declare as follows:
FIRST: Resolved, that there be and is hereby levied
upon all of the taxable property within theCity of Newport Beach
which is taxable therein for municipal purposes, a tax for the
purpose of raising the necessary money with which to carry on the
various departments of the City of Newport Beach for the current
fiscal year 1950 -51.
SECOND: Resolved, that the rate per centum of the tax
hereinafter levied shall be and is hereby fixed as the sum of
eighty cents ($.80) on each one hundred dollars of value designated
for each fund as follows:
For current expense fund: Seventy -five cents ($.75)
For the Library Fund: Five cents ($.05)
Total Tax Levy: Eighty cents ($.80)
THIRD: Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes
herein above levied there is hereby levied on all the taxable
property with the City of Newport Beach, a tax of four cents (4c)
on each One Hundred Dollars ($100) for advertising purposes,
pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 144 submitted to and
carried by a majority of the votes of all the voters voting at an
election held for the purpose of voting for or against said
ordinance on the 24th day of September, 1918.
FOURTH: Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes
herein above levied, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable
property within the City of Newport Beach a tax of three cents
(30 on each One Hundred Dollars ($100) of assessed valuation, for

park purposes, pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 380 of
the City of Newport Beach, submitted to and carried by a majority
of the votes of all voters voting at an election held for the
purpose of voting for or against said ordinance on May 28, 1938.
FIFTH: Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes
herein above levied, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable
property within Municipal Improvement District No. 2 of the City of
Newport Beach, a tax of five cents (54�) on each one hundred dollars
($100) of assessed valuation for the payment of semi - annual
interest on and the redemption of the bonds of said district.
SIXTH: Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes
herein above levied, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable
property within Municipal Improvement District No. 3 of the City
of Newport Beach, a tax of nine cents (9t) on each One Hundred
Dollars ($100) of assessed valuation, for the payment of semi-
annual interest on and the redemption of the bonds of said
district.
SEVENTH: Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes
herein above levied, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable
property within the City of Newport Beach a tax of ten cents (10t)
on each One Hundred Dollars ($100), said amount being sufficient
to raise the amount estimated by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach to be required to provide sufficient revenue to meet
the obligation of the City to the Retirement System under Section
58 -c of the "State Employees Retirement Act" Statutes of 1931,
1442, and amendments thereto, as well as sufficient under sub-
section 5 of Section 38 -C of the same Act, and said rate of
taxation is in addition to the annual rate of taxation allowed by
law to be levied in the City of Newport Beach.
EIGHTH: Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes
herein above levied for municipal purposes, there is hereby levied
on all of the taxable property with in the City of Newport Beach,

excepting upon property annexed on and after November 1, 1943, a
tax for the purpose of raising the necessary and sufficient money
to pay the annual interest on all issued, outstanding, and unpaid
municipal bonds of the City of Newport Beach, and also such part
of the principal thereof as shall become due before the time for
fixing the next general tax levy in and for said City, the rate
hereby levied for said purposes is fixed at fourteen cents (14q)
on each One Hundred Dollars ($100) of value, and the same shall be
collected at the same time and in the same manner as all other
municipal taxes are collected.
The above and foregoing Resolution was passed, adopted
and approved by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 28th day of August 1950, by
the following vote, to -wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Greeley, Blue, Isbell
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: Finch, Drake
The above and foregoing Resolution No. 3826 is approved
by me this 28th day of August 1950.
