A RESOLUTION FIXING POLLING PLACES, APPOINTING
ELECTION OFFICERS AND ESTABLISHING RULES FOR
CITY EMPLOYEES
EL ONi`HE QUESTION OF
AMENDIQ&NT OF THE 8 CONTRACT 411TH THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA UNDER THE CALIFORNIAI STATE: EM-
PLOYEES' RETIREMENT ACT.
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby
resolve and ordain as follows:
SECTION I. That pursuant to the provisions of Subdivision
1 of Section 36 -C of the California State Employees' Retirement
Act, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby es-
tablish and fix Wednesday, August 22nd, 1951, between the hours of
11:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. of said day, as the date and time for
holding the Employees' Election provided for in said Subdivision 1
of Section 38-C of said Act, and does hereby establish and fix the
Office of the City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach, located at
and in the City Hall of the City of Newport Heaoh, and the Stock
Room at and in the Corporation Yard of the City of Newport Beach,
as the polling places for said election.
SECTION II. There shall be a ballot box available at each
polling place, said ballot boxes to be used exclusively for the
deposit of ballots ca at by the employees of the City of Newport
Beach, exclusive of the members of the .Police and Fire Departments
of said City.
SECTION III. The-City Council of the City of Newport Beach
sitting as a body be, and the same hereby is detailed to be the
election officers who shall 'conduct said election and who shall
count and tally the ballots and determine the results of said
election.
SECTION IV. Votes may be cast at any time on the date a-
11bove fixed between the hours of 11:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.
SECTION V. The City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach
[shall furnish the City Council,. sitting as election officers, with
ja list of all those employees of the City of Newport Beach who are
(1qualified electors in said election.

SECTION VI. When 't40 votes shall have been counted, the
City Council, sitting as an IIection Board, shall then determine
the results of the election.
The above and foregoing Resolution was duly passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Fevport Beach held on
the 13th day of August, 1951, by the following vote, to -wits

of the City of Newport Beach filed and maintained in my office,
the foregoing Resolution No. 3912 was duly and
regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach., California, at a regular meeting.of said
City Council held at the regular.meeting place thereof, on the
13th ' day of August ,.19 51. by the following
vote, to wit:
