RESOLUTION, NO. 4260
A RESOLUTION ORDERING TRANS14ITTAL OF PROPOSED
CHARTER OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
TO THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA FOR APPROVAL
On motion of Councilman Miller, duly seconded and
carried, the .following Resolution was adopted:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
duly called and provided for the holding of an election in said
City on June 8, 1954, for tyre purpose of submitting to the
qualified electors of said City the proposition of shall the
proposed Charter of the City of Newport Beaci•, be adopted; and
WHEREAS, said election was consolidated, with the primary
election to be held on the same date within the bound*ries of the
City of Newport Beach by Resolution of said City Council and by
order of the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, State of
California; and
WHEREAS, said election, pursuant to said orders or can-
solidation, was duly held at the polling places prescribed for
said primary election, and the votes cast thereat were canvassed
and the returns thereof made at the time and in the manne.'and
form provided by law; and
WHEREAS, on the 10th day of June, 1954, said Board of
duly assembled at its usual place of meeting for the

NOWO THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, County of Orange, State of California, does hereby resolve,
determine and order as followet
That the Cler;;. of the City of Newport Beach be and he
is hereby authorized and directed to transmit to the Secretary
of State of the State of California, a certified copy of said
proposed Charter; a.ce.rtified copy of the said Resolution of the
Board of Supervisors of Orange County, California, adopted at its
said meeting of June 28, 1954, containing a certified abstract
of the vote showing the whole number of electors voting, the
number of votes in favor of the proposed Charter and the number
of votes against said proposed Charter; and a certified copy of
this Resolution.
The above and foregoing Resolution No. 4260 Was duly
and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach at a ,regular meeting thereof held on the 26th
day of July, 1954, by the following vote, to Witt

ing to the records of the City of Newport Beach filed and

4260 was duly and regularly adopted, passed, and
approved by the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said City
Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on
