to and in accordance with the "Street Vacation Act of 1941" and ',, ;i

California Streets and Ht,lbways Code; and

of said street proposed to be vacated, not more than 30c feet

affidavit of L. W. Covert, the said Street Superintendent of
City of Newport Beach, on file in these proceedings; and
WHVEASt said notices so posted by the Street Superin-
of the City of Newport Beach stated the preparation of
Resolution of Intention go. 4425 aforesaid,,and the date and
of the hearing of all persons interested in or objecting to
proposed vacation of said portion of said street; and
WHEREA89 the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
said Resolution of Intention No. 4425 aforesaid, did fix
, the 23d day of January, 19561, at the hour of 7930 p.m. of
day as the time, and the Council Chavubers of the City Council
the City of Newport Beach, located in the City Hall of the City
Newport Beach, as the place, for the hearing of all persons
terested in or objecting to the proposed vacation of said portion

interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation, all of which
5 will more fully appear by the affidavit of Ben Reddick, owner

and publisher; Iof said Newport Harbor Pews- Press, on file in these

proceedings ;'and

has heard the evidence, both written and verbal, of all persons

interested in the vacation of said portion of said street in this

Resolution more particularly hereinafter described, and finds from

all the evidence submitted that said portion of said street des-

cribed in said Resolution of Intention, anb hereinafter described,

is unnecessary for present or prospective public street or alley

purposes

NOW9 THERLFOAE, the City Council of the City of Newport

Beach finds and determines and hereby orders that the following

described portion of that certain street in the City of Newport

Beach, described as follows

A triangular shaped parcel of land being a portion
21 of that portion of Lot 24, Block 91 and vacated
street adjoining on -tbe nest as shown upon a map
22 of Tract No, 27 recorded in Miscellaneous !laps Book
9, pa-;e 26 Records of Orange County, utate of Calif -
23 ornia, that was granted to the State of California
for a public highway and described in deed record -
24 ed in look 8¢9, page 869 Official Records, Records
of Orange Cou;.ty California, and more particularly
28 described as fol�ows:
28 Beginning at a point in the northwesterly line of
the 8( foot strip of land described in deed from
27 John J. Thornton et al to the County of Orange, re-
corded in Bo«, 72, page 131 of Official F.ecords of
28 said Orange County, which point is the southerly
ei:d of that certair, tangent course in said north -
29 westerly line having a length cff 157.44 feet and a
bearing of South 34" 59' 3511 West- thence from said
301 point of beginning South 340 59, 35" West along the
southwesterly prolongation of said tangent course

The City Council further orders that the City Clerk of
the City of Newport Beach shall cause a certified copy of this
Order, duly attested by her as the City Clerk, under the seal
of the City, to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder
of Orange County, hate of California, itzmedistely following the
passage of this Resolution.
The above and foregoing Resolution No. 4432 was duly

passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, held on the 23d day of January, 1956,
