RESOLUTION No. 4436
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT REACH PROPOSING AN AMENDR&NIT TO SECTION
1402 OF TIM CHARTER OF TIM CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AND SUBXITTING THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE
VOTERS OF SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is organised and
existing under a Charter adopted under the provisions of Section
Eight of Article Eleven of the Constitution of the State of
California; and
WBBREAS, certain citizens have requested that an
additional paragraph gadded to Section 1402 of said Charter;
NOW, Ti#EABFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach, pursuant to the provisions of
Section Sight of Article Eleven of the Constitution of the
State of California, that said Council does, on its own motion,
propose to the electors of the City of Newport Beach a certain
amendment to the Charter by adding to Section 1402 of the
Charter of the City of Newport Beach the following paragraph:
"There shall be reserved forever to the people the
public use of a strip of bay front land above mean high tide
not less than 85 feet in depth of the city -owned water front
property bounded on the west by the southeasterly line of
Nineteenth Street and bounded on the east by a line parallel
thereto lying 349.90 reet northwesterly or the northwesterly
line of Fifteenth Street, said frontage to be fay front frontage."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that th @s amendment shall be
submitted to the electors of the City of Newport Beach at a
general municipal election to be held in the City of Newport
Beach on the 10th day of April, 1956.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and
regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City
