RESOLUTION NO. 473
A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
ORDER THE ABANDONMENT OF A CERTAIN PORTION OF
MARINE AVENUE FOR THE PURPOSE OF RE- ALIGNMENT
OF SAID MARINE AVENUE.
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach, pursuant to the
provisions of.the "Street Vacation Act of 1941 ", and all amendments
thereto, being Sections 8300 to 8331, inclusive of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, does hereby resolve and
declare as follows:
SECTION 1: The public interest and convenience requires the
closing up and abandonment of a portion of a certain street known as
Marine Avenue at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway in the City
of Newport Beach, and it is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach to order the following described portion of said
street in the City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of Cali-
fornia, to be vacated, closed up and abandoned, to wit:
"Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Marine
Avenue as said Marine Avenue is described in a deed recorded
in Book 830, Page 217, et. seq., Official Records of Orange
County, California, with the center line of the right -of -way
of Coast Highway 100.00 feet in width; thence south 780 31' 00"
east, a distance of 27.07 feet; thence south ll 29' 00" west,
a distance of 50.00 feet to a point on a line parallel with
and 50.00 feet southwesterly, as measured at right angles,
from the center line of the right -of- -way of said Coast High-
way, saig point to be known as Point A; thence, continuing
south 11 29' 00" west, a distance of 20.00 feet, to the
true point of beginning of this description; thence, north-
westerly to a point on first mentioned parallel line 20.00
feet northwesterly from said point A; thence northwesterly
along said first mentioned parallel line to the westerly
right -of -way line of said Marine Avenue., said westerly right -
of -way line being the northwesterly terminus of a tangent
curve, concave southwesterly, having a radius of 20.00 feet;
thence, southeasterly along said westerly right -of -way line
and along said curve through a central angle of 750 36' 00 ",
an are distance of 26.39 feet; thence, south 20 55' east,
along said westerly right -of -way line a distance of 263.63
feet, to the beginning of a tangent curve, concave easterly,
having a radius of 440.00 feet; a radial line at said point
bears north 870 05' 00" east; thence northeasterly along said
curve through a central angle of 14 24' to a tangent line;
thence north 110 29' 00" east, a distance of 141.08 feet to
the point of beginning ".

All that portion of said street to be vacated, closed up and
abandoned, is more clearly shown on a certain map approved and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach for said
vacation, closing up and abandonment, by resolution dated January
13, 1958, and designated as "Resolution No..e¢733 ", which said map
is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Newport
Beach. Reference is hereby made to said map for further particulars
as to the proposed vacation, closing up and abandonment of said
portion of said street, and said map is made a part of this resolu-
tion to the same extent and purpose as if the same were herein incorpo-
rated in full.
SECTION 2: The proceedings for the closing up and abandonment
of the aforesaid portion of said street shall be had and taken, and
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby elects to pro-
ceed under the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941 ", and
all amendments thereto, being Sections 8300 to 8331 inclusive, of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 3: The Street Superintendent of the City of Newport
Beach shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of the
portion of said street proposed to be vacated not more than 300 feet
apart, but not less than three in all, notices of the vacation of
said portion of said street. Said notices shall state the passage
of this Resolution of Intention and the time and place of the hearing
of all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation of
said portion of said street. Said notices shall be so posted at least
ten days before the date of said hearing, all as required by law.
SECTION 4: Notice is hereby given that the City Council of
Newport Beach does hereby fix Monday, February 10, 1958, at the hour
of 7:30 o'clock P. M. of said day, in the Council Chambers of the
City of Newport Beach, located in the City Hall of Newport Beach, as
the time and place for hearing all persons interested in orcbjecting
to the proposed vacation of said portion of said street. And the
City Council at said time and place will hear the evidence offered
by any person.•interested in the vacation of said portion of said

street heretofore described.
SECTION 5: This Resolution of Intention shall be published at
least once in the Newport Harbor News Press, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Newport
Beach, and said publication shall be made before the date set for
the hearing of all persons interested in or o:)Jecting to the proposed
vacation.
The foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the
Council of Newport Beach on the 13th day of January, 1958, by the
following vote, to wit:

regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said
City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on the
13th day of January , 19 58, by the following
vote, to wit:
