RESOLUTION N0. 5029
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
SIGN LEASE WITH PAGIFIC ELECTRIC RAILWAY COMPANY
WHEREAS, under the terms of its contract with the City
of Costa Mesa and the Costa Mesa, Newport Harbor and Corona del
Mar Chambers of Commerce for the erection and maintenance of
geographical signs in the Newport Harbor area, the City of Newport
Beach agreed to be named as lessee and to execute leases of the
sites for certain of said signs, including one on the northerly
approach to the harbor area on Pacific Coast Highway; and
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach sign lease 17006 dated May 21, 1959,
between the Pacific Electric Railway Company and the City, under
which the City is permitted to install and maintain one 10' x 301
painted signboard upon the premises of the Pacific Electric Railwa
Company alongside Pacific Coast Highway at Nordina Street in the
City of Newport Beach at an annual rental of $'81.00; and
11HEREAS, the City Council has considered the terms and
conditions of said sign lease and said terms and conditions are
reasonable and equitable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said sign 1
on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 29 th day of .tur -,,
