• 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEVTPORT BEACH.ESTABLISHING A CLASSIFICATION
3 PLAN AND SALARY RANGES AND RATES

5 WHEREAS, Section 2200 of the Newport Beach Municipal
6 Code, entitled "Classification and Compensation Plans and Uniform
7 Personnel Policies ", authorizes the City Council on recommendation
8 of the City Manager to establish by resolution the classifi*ation

of positions in City employment and a salary.range and rates for
10
each class; and

1THEREAS, Resolution No. 4894 adopted schedules desig-
12
nating such classifications and salary ranges; and
13
WHEREAS, the City Manager, on the basis of his study of

the classification plan and salary ranges and rates, has recom-

mended adjustments by the adoption of new schedules, and the City
16
Council has concurred with his recommendation;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that effective July 1,
18
1959, Resolution No. 4894 is rescinded and that, pursuant to Secti,
19
2200 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code, Schedule "A" dated July
20
15 1959, setting forth classes of positions, salary range numbers,
21
biweekly rates, monthly equivalents and special rates, Schedule "B
22
dated July 1, 1959, setting forth salary range numbers and biwee l_
23
salary rates, and Schedule "C" dated July 1, 1959, setting forth
24
hourly equivalents of the biweekly salary rates and monthly equiva
25
lents, all attached hereto, be and are hereby adopted, and the
26
classes, salary range numbers, biweekly salary rates, special rat:=
27
said hourly equivalents and monthly equivalents shown therein be

established.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a biweekly pay period be
30
established for all classifications established by this resoluti <.,,

This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the

City of Newport Beach at an adjourned regular meeting on the 15th

(1) Police personnel assigned to two -wheel motorcycles receive additional $12.00 biweekly. "
Police personnel assigned to Det. Bureau receive following addtl. biweekly compensa-
tion:
Police Captain $16.80; Police Sergeant $14.40; Police Patrolman and Policewoman $12.00.
(2) Paid $15.00 monthly for attendance at two monthly drills and emergency calls not in
excess of three hours each. Calls in excess of three hours each paid at $1.10 / hr.
(3) Off -duty employees only.
(4) Limited to Police and Fire personnel assigned to work as policemen or firemen during
their off -duty hours for private employers.
(5) Limited to Police and Lifeguard personnel occupying permanent positions.
