ITIN IUAS, Section 3289 of the Newport Beach lIuiicipal
provides thhat when authorized signs are in place, no person shall
stop or park any vehicle within a business district between t?he
hours of 7.000 A. T.. and 6:00 P. K. for a period of time to .ger t r
one hoar; and
[irI R A,S, Section 22505 of the California Vehicle Code
provides that local authorities may by resolution restrict the
parsing of velhicles on a state highway if the ordinance or resolu-
tion is first submitted to and approved in writing by the De?ert-
ment of Public b:?orks; and
[•HZM-LS, the City has been requested to restrict parking
in tie business district along Pacific Coast Highway in Corona del
Mar in order to control and facilitate traffic and parking of
vehicles;

Section 1. It is directed that signs be placed along the
south side of Pacific Coast ":iighway between Avocado Avenue and Glen
Drive and along the north side of Pacific Coast - .Ughway between
Dahlia Avenue and Seaward Road, limiting the parking of vehicles
thereon to one hour, in accordance with said section 3289.
Section 2. The provisions of this resolution shall be
affective only after written approval by the Department of Public
Works of the State of California.
The regulation of traffic hereby established upon the
state highway shall cease to be operative six months after receipt
by the City Council of written notice of withdrawal of approval
by the Department of Public works.
Whenever this resolution delegates authority to a city

officer, or authorizes action by the City Cotmcil to regulate
traffic upon a state highway in any way which by state law requir,
the prior approval of the Department of Public Edorks, no such
officer shall exercise such authority nor shall such action by
the City Council be effective with respect to any state higHway
without the prior approval in writing of the Department of Public
Works when and to the extent required by Division 11 and Division
15 of the Vehicle Code.
This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the
City of Newport reach at a regular meet;_ng on the 14th day of
