HomeMy WebLinkAbout5429 - Classification Plan Ranges & RatesWWC.mec 6,/23/61 RESOLUTION N0, 5429 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A•CLASSIFICATION PLAN AND SALARY RANGES AND RATES ' • WHEREAS, Section 2200 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code, entitled "Classification and Compensation Plans and Uniform Personnel Policies ", authorizes the City Council on recommendation of the City Manager to establish by resolution the classification of positions in City employment and a salary range and rates for each class; and WHEREAS, Resolution No, 5256 adopted schedules designating such classifications and salary.ranges; and, WHEREAS, the City Manager, on the basis of his study of the classification plan and salary ranges and rates, has recommended adjustments by the adoption of new schedule a; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that effective July 1, 1961, Resolution No. 5256 and all vesolutions amending said resolution ar schedules adopted thereby are rescinded and that, pursuant to Section 2200 of the Newport,Beach Municipal Code, Schedule "A" dated July 1, 1961, setting forth classes of positions, salary range numbers, bi- weekly rates, monthly equivalents and special rates, Schedule "B" dated July 1, 1961, setting forth salary range numbers and biweekly salary rates, and Schedule "C" dated July 1, 1961, setting forth hourly and daily equivalents of the biweekly salary rates and monthly equivalents, all attached hereto, be and are hereby. adopted, and 'the classes; salary range numbers, biweekly salary rates,.special rates, said hourly equiv- alents, daily equivalents, and monthly equivalents shown therein be established, BE IT FURTHER•RESOLVED that any employee who.at,the time said schedules become.effective,is receiving compensation in excess of .'the maximum rate established by said schedules for the position.held by him shall continue:to receive such higher compensation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the biweekly pay period hereto- fore established be continued. (3) Off -duty employees only. (4) Limited to Police and Lifeguard personnel occupying permanent positions. (5) Paid $15.00 monthly for attendance at two monthly drills and emergency calls not in excess . of three hours each. Calls in excess of three hours each paid at $1.10 per hour. (6) Limited to Police and Fire personnel assigned to work as policemen or firemen during their . off -duty hours for private employers. (7) Compensated by City's provision of housing and utilities.
