RESOLUTION N0. 5449
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
CONTRACT
WHEREAS, a contract has been prepared and presented to
the City under which the City would apply for a permit from County
Sanitation District No. 5 to authorize the construction of a sewer
connection to its sewer main along Jamboree Road for the purpose
of serving the hotel and motel lying between Jamboree Road and
Bayside Drive now proposed to be constructed by the Newporter Hotel
Corporation and would require the City to maintain the portion of
the sewer line serving said hotel and motel that lies within the
right -of -Keay of Jamboree Road; and
WHEREAS, the County Sanitation District will issue such
a permit only to a governmental agency that is equipped to maintain
the sewer connection; and
WHEREAS, the City is the only governmental agency
presently in a position to maintain said connection and is willing
to do so in consideration of the contract price of $137.60 for the
term from July 1, 1961, through June 30, 1962; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the terms of said
contract and found the same to be fair and equitable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
contract on behalf of the Citv_
