2 A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS
3 INTENTION.TO ORDER THE CLOSING UP, VACATION
AND ABANDONFENT -OF A PORTION OF A CERTAIN
4 STREET KNOWN AS DOVER DRIVE

6 The City Council of the City of Newport Beach, pursuant
7 to the provisions of the A°Street Vacation Act of 1941", and all
8 amendments thereto, being Sections 8300 to 8331, inclusive, of
9 the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, does
10 hereby resolve and declare as follows:
11 SECTION 1. The public interest and convenience require
12 the closing up and abandonment of a portion of a certain street
13 known as Dover Drive in the City of Newport Beach, and it is the
14 intention of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach to
15 order the following described portion of said street in the City
16 of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California, to be
17 vacated, closed nap and abandoned, to wit
18 A portion of 17th Street (now known as Dover Drive)
adjoining Lot 147, in Tract No. 1218, as shown on a
19 map thereof, recorded in Book. 37, pages 47, 48 and 49
of Miscellaneous Flaps, records of Orange County,
20 California, more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at the Northerly corner of said Lot 14+7;
thence South 790 29' 26" East 15.56 feet to a point in
22
a curve, concave Easterly and havir a radius .of 850.00
feet, said point being North 790 29 26" West, 50.00

feet from the Westerly line of that certain 50.00 foot
strip of land, as described in deed to the City of
24
Newport Beach, recorded November 7, 1961 in Book 5905,
page 276 of Official Records of said County, a radial
25
line from said point bears South 790 29' 2611 East;
thence Southerly along said curve through an angle of
26
22° 31' 1003, a distance of 334.08 feet to the beginning
of a tangent curve, concave Northwesterly and having a
27
radius of 30.00 feet said beginning of tangent curve

being South 770 59' Chest, 50.00 feet from said

Westerly line of 50.00.foot strip; thence Southerly
and Southwesterly along said curve through an angle of

97° 13' 06" a distance of 50.90 feet to a line tangent,
said line tangent being the Easterly prolongation of

the Southerly line of said Lot 147; thence South 850
12' 30" West along said line tangent, a distance of

9.82 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve, concave
Northwesterly and having a radius of 30.00 feet, said

beginning of tangent curve being in the Southerly line

of said Lot 147, thence Northeasterly and Northerly
along said curve and along the Easterly line of said
Lot 147 through an angle of 101° 53' 35 ', a distance
of 53.35 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve,
concave Easterly, and having a radius of 640.00 feet;
thence Northerly and Northeasterly along said curve,
and along the Easterly line of said Lot 147 through
an angle of 30° 11' 15 °1, a distance of 337.20 feet to
the point of beginning.
All that portion of said street to be vacated, closed up
and abandoned is more clearly shown on a certain reap approved and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach for
said vacation, closing up and abandonment, by resolution dated
C1111,914 .2's , 1962, and designated 09Resolution No.
w ich said map is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the
City of Newport Beach. Reference is hereby made to said map for
further particulars as to the proposed vacation, closing up and
abandonment of said portion of said street, and said map is made a
part of this resolution by this reference to the same extent and
purpose as if it were incorporated herein in full.
SECTION 2. The proceedings for the closing up and aban-
donment of the aforesaid portion of said street shall be had and
taken, and the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby
elects to proceed under the provisions of the "Street Vacations Act
of 1941 ". and all affiendmerts thereto, being Sections 8300 to 83312
inclusive, of the Streets and Highways Code of the State o£ Cali-
fornia.
SECTI ®N 3. The Street Superintendent of the City of
Newport Beach shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the
line of the portion of said street proposed to be vacated not more
than 300 feet apart, but not less than three in all, notices of
the vacation of said portion of said street. Said notices shall
state the passage of this Resolution of Intention and the time and
place of the hearing of all persons interested in or objecting to
the proposed vacation of said portion of said street. Said
notices shall be so posted at least ten days before the date of

said hearing, all as required by law.
MCTION 4. Notice is hereby given that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach does hereby fix Monday, the ra-74/, day
of 6162"" i<.1,.� , 1962, at the hour of 7 :30 o'clock P. M. of said day,
in the Lu ncil Chambers of the City of Newport Peach, located in
the City Hall of the City of Newport Beach, as the time and place
for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
vacation of said portion of said street, and the City Council at
said time and ,place will hear the evidence offered by any person
interested in the vacation of said portion of said street herein-
before described.
S37CTION 5. This Resolution of Intention shall be
published at least once in the official newspaper of the City,
and said publication shall be made before the date set for the
hearing of all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
vacation.
