2 A RESOLUTION OF TIC CITY COUNCIL OF TILE CITY OF
NZWPORT BEACH REVISING SECTIONS.S AND.23 OF THE
3 HAc BOR PERMIT POLICIES MUTING TO ISSUING OF-
41i PERMITS AND.BAYWARD LOCATION-CF PIERS AND FLOATS
5 M-0REAS, on August 24, 1964, the City Council adopted a
6 set of Harbor Permit Policies dated ,Lune 1, 1964, by 3esolution No.
7 6019, on October 19, 1964, adopted Harbor Permit Policies Addendum
8 No. I dated October 19, 1964, by Resolution No. 6041, and on
9 October 26, 1964, adopted Harbor Permit Policies Addendum No. 2
10 dated October 26, 1964, by Resolution No. 6047; and
11 WHEREAS, certain revisions to Section 5 of said Harbor
12 Permit Policies relating to issuing of permits and Section 23 of
13 said Policies relating to bayward location of piers and floats
14 have been reviewed by the City Council and found to be satisfactory;
15 MQU, THEREFORZ, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
16 the City of Newport Beach:
17 1. That Subsection E be added to Section 5 of said
18 Harbor Permit Policies to read:
19 CIE. Prior approval of the ,point harbor Committee
will be required before issuing any permit when:
20
1. Work extends beyond the U. S. Pierhead
21 Line, except when permitted by Section
23 of these policies,
22
2. Harbor lines have not been established
23 by the U. S. Corps of Engineers, or
defined by a harbor lines map approved
24 by the Joint Harbor Committee and the
City Councils'

2611 2. That a new paragraph be added to Section 23 of said
2711 Harbor Permit Policies, following the first paragraph of Subsection
28 11 (IZ) thereof, to read:
29 "Piers, slips, and floats will be permitted to
extend channelward a distance of 30 feet maximum from
30 the channel lines in the Rivo Alto, The Rialto, and
the channel lying westerly of Newport Boulevard.90

be amended to reflect the above revisions and a copy of said
Policies be kept on file in the City Clerk's office.
ADOPTED this 26th day of April, 1965.
