RESOLUTION NO. 6211
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY REGULATION
OF TRAFFIC ON WASHINGTON STREET BETWEEN BAY
AVENUE AND EDGEWATER AVENUE
WHEREAS, Charleston Enterprises and the United Artists
Company have advised the City Council that they intend to use the
Fun Zone area of the City for the purpose of photographing a movie
on September 7, 1965; and
WHEREAS, in connection with said activity it will be
necessary to locate heavy trucks and other equipment on Washington
Street between Bay Avenue and Edgewater Avenue adjoining the Fun
Zone area; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police of the Newport Beach Police
Department has determined that it will be necessary to establish
traffic and crowd control in the interest of public safety; and
WHEREAS, Section 21100 of the California Vehicle Code
authorizes local authorities to establish traffic regulations by
resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the Chief of the Newport Beach
Department is hereby authorized to establish such temporary traffic
controls as he may deem necessary in the interest of public safety
on September 7, 1965, on Washington Street between Bay Avenue and
Edgewater Avenue adjoining the Fun Zone area.
ADOPTED this 23rd day of August, 1965.
