Home My WebLink About6247 - Annexation 57 - CenterviewTHS:mec 11/5/65 RESOLUTION NO. 6247 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH CORRECTING CERTAIN CLERICAL ERRORS CONTAINED IN RESOLUTION NO. 6155 AND RESOLUTION NO. 6203, DEALING WITH ANNEXATION NO. 57 (CENTERVIEW) WHEREAS, on the 19th day of May, 1965, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County approved Annexation No. 57 (Centerview) to the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, said approval was partially based upon the finding by the Orange County Boundary Commission that the revised legal description submitted to that body was definite and certain; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach did adopt Resolution No. 6155 declaring its intention to annex the subject property and Resolution No. 6203 approving said annexation; and WHEREAS, due to a clerical error the above numbered resolutions contained an incorrect legal description of the sub- ject property; follows: NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council hereby resolves as 1. Resolution No. 6155 and Resolution No. 6203 are amended by substituting the following boundary description for the description contained in said resolutions: All that portion of Blocks 93 and 96 of Irvine's Subdivision, in the County of Orange, State of California, as shown on a map recorded in Book 1, Page 88,'Miscellaneous Record Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said county, described as follows: Commencing at the westerly corner of said Block 96; thence South 50° 22' East 2203.00 feet along the south- westerly line of said block to the easterly corner of Tract No. 673, as shown on a map recorded in Book 20, Pages 17 and 18 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of said County Recorder, and an angle point in the "Harbor View Annex' to the City of Newport Beach as established by Ordinance No. 896; thence along the boundary of said' City of Newport Beach the following courses and distances: North 76° 11' 00" East 151.58 feet; North 43° 48' 50" East 103.15 feet; South 73° 15' 45" East 147.57 feet; North 1° 46' 30" East 166.20 feet to the true point of beginning; thence North 44° 56' 20" East 114.30 feet; thence South 70° 33' 35" East 145.88 feet; thence North 590 41' 30" East 156.36 feet; thence South 28' 21' 05" East 133.00 feet; thence North 87° 26' 05" East 72.35 feet; thence North 890 00' 00" East 660.00 feet; thence North 40* 00' 00" East 1320.00 feet; thence North 24° 00' 00" East 1680.00 feet; thence East 1050.00 feet; thence North 70 00' 00" East 640.00 feet, more or less, to a point. in the northeasterly line of said Block 96, • distant thereon South 500 00' 00" East 470.00-feet from the northerly corner of the southeasterly one -half of said Block 96; thence North 500 00' 00" West along said northeasterly line, 1035.50 feet to a point in the south- easterly boundary of the land described in the deed to Pacific View Memorial Park, recorded December 17, 1958, in Book 4518 Page 207, Official Records, said point being South 40° 231 52" West 1030.00 feet, more or less, as measured along said southeasterly boundary from the easter- ly corner of said land; thence South 40° 23' 52" West along said southeasterly boundary 281.50 feet, more or less, to an angle point therein; thence continuing along said boundary South 84° 40' 58" West 729.27 feet to an angle point therein; thence North 41° 38° 18" West 565.00 feet to an angle point therein; thence North 480 21' 42" East 72.11 feet to the most southerly corner of that certain reservoir site described in the deed to the City of Newport Beach, recorded December 20, 1957, in Book 4143, Page 395, Official Records, and an angle point in the existing bound- ary of the Big Canyon Reservoir Annexation to said City of Newport Beach, as said boundary was adopted by a resolution of the Board of Supervisors of said Orange County, dated December 17, 1958; thence along the boundary of said City of Newport Beach, the following courses and distances: North 75° 19' 42" West 805.00 feet; North 18° 59' 26" West 1097.02 feet; North 500 25' 59" East 375.46 feet to the northeasterly line of said Block 93; thence leaving said boundary North 490 27' 55" West along said northeasterly line, 1900.00 feet, more or less, to a point in the easter- ly line of MacArthur Boulevard, 100.00 feet wide, said point being on a curve concave northwesterly having a radius of 2050.00 feet and a central angle of 21° 45' 00" and a center line radius of 2000.00 feet, said point also being in the boundary of said City of Newport Beach as established by Ordinance No. 999; thence along said boundary the following courses and distances: southerly 389.10 feet, more or less, to the end of said curve; South 510 56' 31" West 907.97 feet to the beginning of a curve concave southeasterly and having a radius of 1950.00 feet; southerly 902.89 feet along said curve through an angle of 260 31' 4511; South 25° 25' 001° West 1272.00 feet to the most northerly corner of said "Harbor View Annex "; thence along the boundary of said City of Newport Beach, the following courses and distances: South 65° 24' 00" East 720.00 feet; South 50° 14' 20" East 514.39 feet; South 63° East 550.00 feet to the wester-. ly corner of the 1°First Addition to Harbor View Annex" as established by Ordinance No. 944; thence along said boundary: North 270 00' East 130.00 feet; South 630 00' East 305.00 feet; South 500 00' East 795.00 feet; South 720 00' West 245.00 feet; South 410 30' West 350.00 feet; South 640 00' West 275.00 feet; South 77° 00' West 110.00 feet; South 460 30' West 280.00 feet, more or less, to the northeasterly boundary of said "Harbor View Annex "; thence along said bound- ary: 2. South 32° 34' 52" East 936.56 feet more or less, to an angle point therein; South 590 30t East 740.00 feet; South 70 West 760.00 feet; South 75° 59' East 90.00 feet, more or less, to the true point of beginning.
