RESOLUTION NO. 6283
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN
THE CITY AS BOAT LAUNCHING APNEAS AND RESCINDING
RESOLUTION NO. 6245
WHEREAS, Section 10202 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code provides that no person shall launch or remove any vessel from
the waters of Newport Harbor over any public sea wall, sidewalk,
street end, or public property, except at locations where a
regular business of launching and hauling vessels is conducted
which has the necessary equipment to do such work or in areas
designated and posted for such purposes by the City; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 6245 adopted on October 25,
1965, the City Council designated the ends of 15th and 26th Streets
where the same abut Newport Harbor as public boat launching areas
subject to certain conditions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has now determined that certain
changes in such boat launching regulations are desirable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach as follows:
1. That the ends of 15th and 26th Streets where the
same abut Newport Harbor are hereby designated as.public boat
launching areas subject to the following restrictions on their use;
(a) That any boat launched or recovered from
said launching areas shall be hand carried and shall not
exceed 12 feet in length.
(b) That no motor on a boat shall be operated
one hundred (100) feet of the 15th Street launching area.
(c) That boats may be launched or recovered from
the 15th Street launching area only during the hours of from
7 A.M. to 10 P.M.
2. Resolution No. 6245 is hereby rescinded.
