RESOLUTION NO. 6619
2. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEIPORT BEACH AMENDING.SECTION.4 OF RESOLUTION.

ESTABLISHED REGULATIONS FOR THE - OPERATION OF PARKING

6 VWREAS, Chapter 12.44 of Title 12 of the Newport Beach
7 Municipal Code establishes on- street parking meter zones and sets
8 the fees for parking in such zones, provides that the City Council
9 may by resolution establish off - street parking meter zones and
10 set the fees for parking in such zones, and further provides that
11 the City Council shall by resolution designate the denomination
12 of coins to be deposited in parking meters, the parking time
13 allowed following such deposit, and the hours of the day, the days
141 of the week, and the weeks of the year during which deposits are
15 required and the meters will be in operation; and
16 WHEREAS, off - street parking meter zones and regulations
17 for the operation of parking meters were established by Resolution
18 No. 6564, which was subsequently amended by Resolution No. 6606;
19 and
20 WHEREAS, the City Council desires to substitute the use
21 of 30- minute meters in zones where 24- minute meters are pre-
22 scribed in Section 4 of Resolution No. 6564, which necessitates
23i the amendment of said section as it relates to said meters;
24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Section 4 of
25 Resolution No. 6564, as amended by Resolution No. 6606, is hereby
26 amended to read:
27 "Section 4. Meters that will measure parking time of 30
minutes, one hour, 2 hours, 5 hours, 6 hours, and 12 hours
28 shall be placed at each parking space in parking meter zones
29 as herein prescribed.
30 In zone 1, 30- minute meters shall be used.
In zone 2, 30- minute and one-hour meters shall be used.

32 In zone 3, 2 -hour meters shall be used.

In zone 4, 30- minute, one -hour and 12 -hour meters
shall.be used.
In zone 5, 30- minute, one -hour, 2 -hour and 12 -hour
meters shall be used.
In the portion of zone 6 described as Fifteenth
Street between Ocean Front and Newport Bay,.30- minute and
6 -hour meters shall be used.
In the remainder of zone 6, 30- minute, 2 -hour, 5 -hour
and 12 -hour meters shall be used.
In zone 10, 2 -hour meters shall be used.
In zone 11, 6 -hour meters shall be used.
In zone 12, 30- minute, 6 hour, and 12 -hour meters
shall.be used.
In zone 13, 6 -hour meters shall be used.
In zone 15, 6 -hour meters shall be used.
In zone 16, 6 -hour meters shall be used.
The coins to be deposited in the parking meters in all
zones shall be pennies, nickels, dimes or quarters as
required by each meter.
Subject to the limitations of this resolution and the
Municipal Code, the traffic engineer shall decide the
cumber, location, and time limit of parking meters as he
determines will best serve the traffic and parking require-
ments of the particular area and zone.

duly and regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said City Council
held at the regular meeting place thereof, on the 24th day of July 1967,
by the following vote, to wit:
