NE14PORT BEACH ORDERING THE VACATION, CLOSING UP
3 AND ABANDONING OF A..PGRTION OF A.CERTAIN'STREET

51 IMREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
61 did, on the 24th day of July, 1967, pass its certain Resolution
7 of Intention No. 6618, declaring its intention to order the vaca-
8 tion, closing up and abandonment of a portion of a certain street
9 known as Ocean Front in the City of Newport Beach, hereinafter
10 more particularly described,'pursuant to and in accordance with th
11 "Street Vacation Act of 194111, and all amendments thereto, being

121 Sections 8300 to 8331, inclusive, of the Streets and Highways Code
13 of the State of California; and
14 WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City of Newpor
15 Beach has caused'to be posted conspicuously along the line of the
16 portion of said street proposed to be vacated, not more than 300
17 feet apart, and not less than three in all, notices of the vaca-
18f tion of said portion of said street, all of which will more fully
19I appear from the affidavit of Joseph T. Devlin, Street Superin-
20 tendent of the City of Newport Beach, on file in these proceed -
21 ings; and
22 GIUREAS, said notices so posted by the Street Superin-
23I tendent of'the City of Newport Beach stated the passage of said
24 Resolution of Intention No. 6618 aforesaid, and the time and place
25 of the hearing of all persons interested in or objecting to the
26 proposed vacation of said portion of said street; and
27 AREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
281 did set Monday, August 14, 1967, at 7:30 P. M. of said day as the

29 time, and the Council Chamber of the dity Council of the City of
• 30 Newport Beach, located'in the City Hall of the City of Newport
31 Beach, as the place, for the hearing of all persons interested in
32 or objecting to the proposed vacation of said portion of said

street; and
AREAS, said Resolution of Intention No. 6618 aforesaid
has been published at least once in the Newport Harbor Ensign, the
official newspaper of the City, and said publication was made
more than 15 days prior to the date set for the hearing of all
persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation, all

of which will more fully appear by the affidavit of Arvo E. Haapa,
Printer and Publisher of the Newport Harbor Ensign, on file in
these proceedings; and
VTHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
has heard ihe'evidence, both written and verbal, of all persons
interested in the vacation of said portion of said street in this
resolution more particularly hereinafter described, and finds from
all the evidence submitted that said portion of said street
described in said Resolution of Intention, and hereinafter des-
cribed, is unnecessary for present or prospective public street
purposes;
NOV, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach finds and determines and hereby orders that the following
described portion of that certain street known as Ocean Front in
the City of Newport Beach, to wit:
Beginning at a point in the Northeasterly line
of Ocean Front, said point being 4 feet North-
westerly from the Southeasterly corner of
Lot 5 in Block F. Seashore Colony Tract, as
shown on a Map recorded in Book 7,.page 25
of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange
County, California; thence Northwesterly
26 feet along the Northeasterly line of Ocean
Front to the Southwesterly comer of said
Lot 5; thence Southwesterly 15 feet along the
Southwesterly prolongation of the North-
westerly line of said Lot 5; thence Southeasterly
parallel to the Northeasterly line of said Ocean
Front to the Southwesterly prolongation of the
Northwesterly line of the Southeasterly 4 feet
of said Lot 5; thence Northeasterly along said
prolongation to the point of beginning,
is unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes,
and that it be vacated, closed up and abandoned.

1 The City Council further finds and determines, and it is
2q hereby ordered, that the public easement in the portion of said
3 street as heretofore described has, upon the passage of this
4I resolution, ceased.
5 The City Council further orders that the City Clerk of
6 the City of Newport Beach shall cause a certified copy of this
7 Order, duly attested by her as the City Clerk, up-der the seal of
8� the City, to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of
9 the County of Orange, State of California, immediately following
10 the passage of this resolution.
11 ADOPTED this 14th day or" August 1967.

do hereby certify that according to the records of the City of Newport Beach
filed and maintained in my office, the foregoing Resolution No. 6622 was
duly and regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said City Council
held at the regular meeting place thereof, on the 14th day of August , 1967,
by the following vote, to wit:
