RESOLUTION NO. 6662
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF
ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS PURSUANT TO THE INHABITED
TERRITORY ANNEXATION ACT OF 1913 TO BE KNOWN AS
ANNEXATION NO. 59
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting held on the 27th day of
February, 1967, the City Council received a letter requesting
that the City Council consent to the annexation of certain con-
tiguous, unincorporated territory to the City which was described
generally as the territory bounded by Twenty Second Street on the
north, Irvine Avenue on the east, Tustin Avenue on the west, and
the Costa Mesa city boundary on the south; and
WHEREAS, the City Council referred the matter of the
request for annexation to the Planning Commission for study and
has received a favorable report and recommendation from the Plan-
ning Commission; and
WHEREAS, Section 35106 of the California Government
Code requires that the consent of the City Council must be ob-
tained before any proceedings are commenced for the annexation of

territory to a city pursuant to the provisions of the Inhabited
Territory Annexation Act of 1913; and
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting held on the 28th day of
August, 1967, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 6637 enti-
tled "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach Consenting to.the Commencement of Annexation Proceedings
Pursuant to the Inhabited Territory Annexation Act of 1913 to
be known as Annexation No. 59 "; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has now determined that it is
necessary and desirable to revise the description of that certain
property included within the area of proposed annexation; and
WHEREAS, the specific description of the boundaries of
the proposed annexation, as revised, and a boundary map of the
area of proposed annexation are attached hereto, marked Exhibits
"A" and_ "B ", respectively, and by reference thereto made a part
hereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that it hereby consents to the commence-
ment of proceedings to annex to the City the above described ter-
ritory pursuant to the provisions of the Inhabited Territory
Annexation Act of 1913:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 6637 is
hereby repealed.
ADOPTED this 9th day of October, 1967.

BEGINNING at the intersection of the Southeasterly line of Tustin Avenue,
60.00 feet wide, with the Northeasterly line of 22nd Street, 60.00 feet wide,
as said streets are shown on the Map of Newport Heights, Recorded in Book 4,
Page 83 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, said
point being an angle point in the existing boundary line of the City of Newport
Beach, as described in the "Tustin Avenue and 22nd Street Annexation" per
Ordinance No. 803, adopted November 13, 1956 by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach; thence South 50 °00'00" East along said Northeasterly line of
22nd Street and along the existing boundary line of the City of Newport Beach
as described in said Ordinance No; 803 and as described in the "Upper Bay
Annexation" per Ordinance No. 748, adopted April 25, 1955 by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach, a distance of 1320.62 feet to the intersection
with the Southeasterly line of Irvine Avenue, 60.00 feet wide, as shown on
said Map of Newport Heights; thence South 39 °59'40" West along said South-
easterly line of Irvine Avenue and along the existing boundary line of the City
of Newport Beach per said Ordinance No. 748, and as described in "Harbor
Highlands Anne %" per Ordinance No. 771, adopted February 27, 4957 by the City
