A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
LOCAL EMERGENCY CAUSED BY BEACH EROSION IN THE
WESTERN PART OF THE CITY HAS BEEN TERMINATED
. WHEREAS, on November 30, 1967, the City Council adopted
Resolution No. 6674 whereby the Council determined that a local
emergency existed which constituted a state of limited peril due
to severe beach erosion in the western part of the City; and
WHEREAS, timely emergency measures were taken which
prevented serious property damage; and
WHEREAS, on December 14, 1967, the United States Army
Corps of Engineers commenced the first phase of a federal beach
erosion control project which has resulted in the placement of
approximately 500,000 cubic yards of sand on the threatened
beaches; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the emergency is over and
that the state of limited peril no longer exists;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that
the state of limited peril declared by the City Council by Reso-
lution No. 6674 adopted on November 30, 1967, is hereby termi-
nated.
