RESOLUTION NO. 6798
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A JOINT AGREEMENT FOR THE OPERATION OF THE
ORANGE COUNTY AUTOMATIC TELECOMMUNICATIONS
SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is a party to a
Joint Agreement for the Operation of Teletypewriter Service
between the County of Orange and various cities located within
said County, which became effective January 1, 1956; and
WHEREAS, the City subsequently entered into an Amend-
ment to Joint Agreement for the Operation of Teletypewriter
Service, effective January 4, 1965, providing for an additional
broadcast teletype system designated "System B" to be included
under the terms of the basic agreement; and
GAZUI AS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach a Joint Agreement for the Operation
of the Orange County Automatic Telecommunications System between
the County of Orange and various cities listed therein, for a
term of five years effective July 1, 1968, which would supersede
and revoke the previous agreements except that the above
mentioned "System B" would remain in operation and be included in
the new agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the terms and
conditions "of said agreement and found them to be reasonable and
equitable;
NOGG, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Joint Agreement
for the Operation of the Orange County Automatic Telecommunica-
tions System is approved and the Mayor and City Clerk are auth-
orized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the City of
Newport Beach.
ADOPTED this 24th day of June 1968.
