A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE
CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS
TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND KNOWN AS ANNEXA-
TION NO. 66, SANTA ANA RIVER AND WEST PACIFIC
COAST HIGHWAY
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has initiated proceed-
ings with the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County
to annex certain unincorporated territory to the City of Newport
Beach; and
WHEREAS, the area proposed to be annexed contains approxi-
mately 2.65 acres of uninhabited territory located at the western
boundary of the existing City limits bounded on the north by Pacific
Coast Highway and on the west by the Santa Ana River and on the
south by the Pacific Ocean, and designated as Annexation No. 66,
Santa Ana Riverand West Pacific Coast Highway; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange is the sole owner of the
subject property and the County has declared a position of no
opposition to this annexation; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 6974 of the City Council
requested that the Local Agency Formation Commission authorize
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach to proceed with
subsequent annexation proceedings without further public hearings
or notice; and
WHEREAS, on November 6, 1968, the Local Agency Forma-
tion Commission approved the annexation request of the City of
Newport Beach and further authorized the City of Newport Beach
to proceed with subsequent annexation proceedings without
further notice and public hearings; and
• WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
hereby elects to proceed with said annexation proceedings without
further public notice or public hearings in accordance with the
provisions of Section 54797.1 of the California Government Code;
and
WHEREAS, it appears that the necessary proceedings
relating to annexation have been conducted strictly in accordance
with the requirements of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939;
follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council hereby resolves as
I. The annexation to the City of Newport Beach,
California, of that certain uninhabited territory contiguous
to said City, known as Annexation No. 66, Santa Ana River and
West Pacific Coast Highway, is hereby approved. Said property
is more particularly described in that certain legal description
attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof.
2. The boundaries of the City of Newport Beach,
California, be, and the same are hereby altered to include the
territory described herein, the annexation of which is approved
herein, and incorporated in the City of Newport Beach, California.
3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file a
certified copy of this resolution with the Secretary of State.
ADOPTED this 14th day of July, 1969.

All that certain land situated in the State of California, County of Orange,
described as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the Northerly line of West Coast Highway, 100 -
feet wide, with the Southerly prolongation of the Easterly line of the strip of land
300 -feet in width, described in a Deed to Newbert Protection District, Recorded June
22, 1911 in Book 197, Page 300 of Deeds, being an angle point in the existing boundary
line of the City of Newport Beach as described in Ordinance No. 630 adopted by the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach; thence leaving said existing boundary line,
South 13'27'09" West along said prolongation 806.40 feet to the Southerly prolongation
of the Southeasterly line of Summit Street 30.00 feet wide as shown on a Map of Seashore
Colony Tract, Recorded in Book 7, Page 25 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange
Couaty, California, being also the existing boundary line of the City of Newport Beach..
as described in Orange County Superior Court Case No. 23686; thence North 36'02'45"
East along said existing boundary line 744.51 feet to said existing boundary line
described in Ordinance No. 630; thence North 53 °57'15" West along said existing
boundary line 309.81 feet to the Point of Beginning.
CONTAINING: 2.65 acres more or less.
