HomeMy WebLinkAbout7072 - Leasing, Servicing, or Maintaining Equipment�1 RESOLUTION NO. 7 07 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CERTAIN CONTRACTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY FOR LEASING, SERVICING OR MAINTENANCE OF EQUIPMENT WHEREAS, Section 421 of the City Charter provides that the City Council by resolution may authorize the City Manager to bind the City, with or without a written contract for the acquisition of equipment, materials, supplies, labor, services or other items included within the budget approved by the City Council, and may impose a monetary limit upon such authority; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the approval of contracts for the leasing, servicing or maintenance of equipment previously approved in the budget by the City Council does not involve a policy judgment, but is an administrative matter which could properly be delegated to the City Manager in the case of contracts where the cost does not exceed $5,000,00 for any one contract; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts on behalf of the`City for the leasing, servicing or maintenance of equipment, provided that such items have been included within the approved budget, and further provided that the expenditure for each such item shall not exceed the sum of $5,000.00.
